What does "as forged" mean?
I think it could be a great option for people not going "all out", like the BrianCrower and Manley rods are. The more competition, the better.
As Forged means they are basically only touching the bores on both ends with a machine. The Carrillo rods get machined everywhere to get from the forging to the finished product.
Possibly not stress relieved (shot peened) or Rockwell tested? Just a guess.
I wonder how close the weights are since they are not fully finished machined? Or would they still be pretty close?
These would be great for a guy like me who only wants 800hp..

I don't believe Carrillo rods are machined everywhere. They are shotpeened, that's why they are so smooth. Although I have only seen pics of them.
Wagler wouldn't put out trash, so I'll bet they handle 1000hp just fine.
Carrillo are fully machined forgings that have been shot peened.
I knew they were shot peened from the pictures, but couldn't tell if they had been machined all around. No wonder they cost what they do! Thanks for the correction buddy!
