Does not seem like a bad price. Anyone on here testing them out?

I would be interested if they did some sort of packaged deal, like there rotating assembly. Otherwise its like the same old argument, the extra cost of 800 to get a rod that you don't have to worry about. Since when is 900-1000 HP enough if its a nozzle/turbo/CP3 change away from 1XXX HP.

What does "as forged" mean?

I think it could be a great option for people not going "all out", like the BrianCrower and Manley rods are. The more competition, the better. :)

Possibly not stress relieved (shot peened) or Rockwell tested? Just a guess.

I wonder how close the weights are since they are not fully finished machined? Or would they still be pretty close?

I don't believe Carrillo rods are machined everywhere. They are shotpeened, that's why they are so smooth. Although I have only seen pics of them.

Wagler wouldn't put out trash, so I'll bet they handle 1000hp just fine.

They are some serious beef, I saw them 2 weeks ago at Waglers event. I wouldn't be apprehensive about putting 1000 hp to them. I was hoping they would come in at around $1500 but $1700 isn't bad.

Carrillo are fully machined forgings that have been shot peened.

I knew they were shot peened from the pictures, but couldn't tell if they had been machined all around. No wonder they cost what they do! Thanks for the correction buddy!

Yeah, with a set of Carrillos in your hands you can tell they are machined everywhere just like a billet rod - but you will have a hard time seeing any milling marks on them. Some other billets you see a lot of the machining marks on - they almost look glass beaded and not shot peened.

Who cares what they look like as long as they don't bend
