918 Spyder.

Seriously porches are a blast to drive. I've only driven a handful though. Hell you can hate on the boxer all you want but it's still more fun to drive than most cars.

I had a turbo charged mk4 r32. I wish I could get that car back! Also had a built b5 s4 that was a blast to drive but I lost my ass on that car. I had over 30k into it the year I owned it and sold it for 14 something...

Honestly though I've been looking for a car for something fun to drive around in and I keep going back to the r32. It wasn't the fastest car by any means but it was one of the most fun cars I've ever driven.

New one. Sorry these are individual posts. I guess the photos all have the same "name" coming from my phone so it'll only load 1 at a time.

I guess I'm not high class enough to be drawn to "German engineering" by the likes of Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, et al. I'm more drawn to the raw, in your face approach of American cars. I've also seen enough comparisons to know GM is making cars that can compete with, and in many cases beat, the best the world has to offer. You can look at the time lists for the Nurburgring and see how well the C6 Z06 stacks up with the best out there. The fact of the matter is, unless you are a professional level driver, you will never get the most out of the cars you are looking at, so it is important that you pick the car you are most comfortable driving, which it sounds like you have done a good job of narrowing it down. There is a guy here who is into Porsche cars, I think he was mentioned a couple of pages back. You might want to shoot him a PM. Whichever car you choose, make sure you post some pics!

You need to drive an AMG Josh, raw and in your face is pretty much all they actually do:)

Probably lol. But I bet a nasty g8 would be half the $

Would be about the same as I'd spend buying this beautiful modded Porsche.
The G8's around me, that are clean, go for $20+ add a built engine, trans, fuel system, FI, wheels and tires and a rear drag pack and you'll quickly be looking at a $50k shitbox

Completely true, but I can sympathize. I could have gone fast for a lot less than I had into my E55, hell the same could be said for both of my trucks.
That's my issue, I can buy the Porsche drive it and still sell it for almost what I bought it for, intact, the 911tt typically appreciates if driven very little.

R's are a pretty cool little car, been there already...mine tried to kill me so ...

White one is a 997.2
The black one is a 991...
They are both 6 figure cars...the black one can reach sticker prices over 2xx,XXX
The 997.2 (white one) used still go for six figures, you're lucky to find a low mile one for less

You need to drive an AMG Josh, raw and in your face is pretty much all they actually do:)

Yeah, isnt the 55 pretty much the German equivalent to the Vette? I'm over driving a "raw and in my face" car...I'd rather have something silky smooth and equally rewarding. But make no mistake, a modded and tuned twin turbo flat six is no steward of peace...

I grew up around the Porsche Turbo's. My father had 5-6 over the years and in 07 I bought my Seal Gray 2003...... Lowered, Short Shift, Intake Plenum, Diverter Valves, Agency Exhaust, Momo's, and an ECU Flash were all done while I owned it. The car was an absolute BLAST!!! I an an EVOMS dealer, mostly do their PowerSports stuff with my business but have become great friends with the owner Todd. They do AMAZING work and build FAST cars!

I think the 996TT is a great choice! I can't compare to the 997 cars as I have never driven one.....

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks for the reply DC!
That's a fine 996tt you've got there, they're both very nice! You don't see the Porsche twist wheels polished often enough! I don't really think I can go wrong with the chassis and performance of either a 996 or 997, they're both going to be great in and out...I know the 997 is better, but the 996 IS CHEAPER! And this one I'm looking at is already modded and making some pretty strong numbers... Although, the kit is an older kit...and I'd bet with Evoms newest version of the kit/tuning that's installed on this car, it would be making almost 100whp more...

I kinda feel like letting that car I'm looking at slip between my fingers is a big mistake, and part of me feels like if I get a 996 I'm always gonna be chasing the newer look, and the other part of me says, dude don't lie, you want that "in your face, drive the piss out of me or GTFO of my drivers seat", car...

Who am I kidding...
Albert was right, I will probably never be happy:baby:
Admitting is the first step to recovery, right?
Lol

But maybe I'm just talking my way into a decision, because the more I play it out in my head, the more I think I might step up to the 997...but a 3.8 GT3 w/Aero Kit instead of a turbo.

I'm less afraid of a few more miles on the NA engine, to be able to afford the purchase. The GT3 is lighter than the turbo model by about 600+lbs and the entire chassis was pieced together with the focus of this 911 biased toward handling...but the purchase price increases dramatically from what I can spend right now, I'd absolutely be selling the Dmax to get this car

You guys laugh, but this is a real friggin decision!
LMFAO!
:spit:

And it's allot of friggin money to commit to owning a car...
