Evo 8. I made 550hp on the stock block n head. 6765 turbo exhaust, FMIC,hard wired 255 pump, 1600cc injectors and GSC 280cams. I ran 10.7 10.8 consistently. Stock trans stock Case stock axles. Quarter masterTwin disk clutch. Tuned by boostin performance on AEM in Chicago. The car took a serious beating since i bought it in 2005 brand new. Most reliable easy power vehicle I've owned.:thumb:

If you want to be different, get an Audi Allroad. Thats what we got my wife, bought it for 9k. Hers has the 2.7 twin turbo v6 S4 motor, but you can also get them with the 4.2l V8 S4 motor. I just ordered all the parts to do a coil conversion to ditch the airbags and let her drive it until probably next year then buy her a new car and put some goodies on the Allroad. :D

They are a badass ride, you just don't see many of them...

Yeah we found hers about 30 min away from us and it had just had the timing belt, water pump, and pulleys done by Audi so we hopped on it. Pretty problem free for the last couple years other than the air suspension starting to leak and one bad o2 sensor. Ive never seen one like hers its got a completely green interior..leather seats dash etc all green.

05-06 Mercedes E55. You can do a SC pulley, kleeman short tube headers, and a tune for about 2000-2500 and you'll have 480-490HP to the wheels! You won't regret it and you can pick them up for less then 25K nowadays.

Does she like the W211 07-09 E63's or the W212 10+ E63? You can do a bumper and grill swap on the 03-06 E55's for about 1500 bucks and it'll look identical to a 07-09 E63.

She likes the 12 + body style, at least they are boosted again. Twins turbos and direct injection, sounds like fun to me...

audi S4. I had one for a while and absolutely loved it. I put 15,000+ miles on it and never put $1 of maintenance into it, other than oil changes and a fuel filter.

*disclaimer* the audi 4.2's take 10 (yes, ten) quarts of oil, so the oil change will cost about the same as a duramax oil change.

My favorite part was that the S4's are sooo sleeper. From 10 feet away they look like any other A4. Except when you start it and hear the V8 rumble. :)

And they are AWD, so they arent useless in the snow/bad weather like an M3 or CTS-V.

Everyone complains they (S4's) are heavy, but personally I loved the heaviness of them. When you get in and shut the heavy/thick door you feel like you are in a vault. Its one of the only "small" cars that I feel truly safe in, if I were to get in an accident.

STI's/Evo's are nice and AWD too, but you feel like you're driving around in a tin can, and you look like a 17 year fast-and-furious old boy racer. The doors/window pillars/etc are about half as thick as an S4, and when you shut the door on an STI/Evo, the whole car rattles and shakes.

Once I got it tuned, the fuel economy improved quite a bit. I mean, its still a naturally aspirated V8 in a 4,000lb AWD car, so its never going to be "great", but if I really tried I could get 21mpg.

heres a little video I took of mine when I was putting the aftermarket exhaust on. Sometimes people would do double-takes in the parking lot when they saw an "A4" make those sounds when it started up.

Sadly I drove through a puddle on the road one rainy day that was a lot bigger/deeper than it looked, and the engine took in a huge gulp of water and hydrolocked it/threw a rod. Insurance said it was cheaper to total the car than to freight a new engine over from Germany, so I no longer have it. I will definitely own one again though, I really loved that car. :(

because they are maintenance nightmares....

between the shitty airbag suspension system, and the 2.7t being...well...a 2.7t nobody who isnt a DIY maintenance car guy would ever want one. Why do you think you can buy them all day long for like 5-10k nowadays???

If you make it to 100k on the original K03's, consider yourself lucky.
