LOL....I've seen them without it, I think it looks strange, maybe cause I'm used to seeing them with it.
I'm sure you can special order it, not sure if its a normal option though.
I wish Audi would bring the A8 twin turbo diesel here the euro gears guys drove 1 like 850 miles on 1 tank of fuel and you know there has to be some up grades for it.All aluminum frame and body.:drool:
I had an 06 evo, it was a really good car, just sold it to a friend and bought the truck. i would never own an sti, the ringlands are bad and they go through motors left and right. my evo made 385 at the wheels with just bolt on parts so it was definitely a fast fun car.. if your looking for something comfortable though i would look at evo x's or move to a bmw, i wouldnt call my evo 9 comfortable..
I've always been partial to a G8 GXP as a nice four dour alternative (Worked at a Chevy/Pontiac/Cadillac dealership). That and LS parts are relatively inexpesive. I have a couple buddies with various STi's and STi swaps and haven't heard of any gleaming issues with them popping motors, but then again only one has more than exhaust, and a tune (a two door impreza with JDM STi swap).
Personally I think an CTS-V, G8 GXP, Audi S4, BMW, would be just the ticket for a cool "dad" car. I'd stay away from the tuner car side and stay with German Engineering or "American Muscle"

And whats wrong with a good cavi????? Thats my (Oh shit I just blew up the motor car) Z24 5 speed aluminum flywheel brass clutch header cai borrla exhaust high flow cat white faced gauges and a strut brace lol its a blast I beat the hell out of it and still manage to get 26 mpg.

LOL I know, I drove it around for a day don't you remember.....think 2nd or 3rd gear was out in it then.
I was at the track several months ago, and one of the kids that was there with us had one he was running down the 1/4. He was running low 14s with it, and he kept bugging me to take it down the track. It was tough to launch it, but I managed to get a 13.8 out of it. I was pretty impressed with it. It was the later turbo motor instead of the supercharged motor, and I think it may have had some sort of tuning done to it also.
If I was looking for a fun family car, a Pontiac G8 would be hard to pass up. Small block V8, rear wheel drive, and 4 doors with lots of room.
Change injectors for some larger ones and run E85, bigger fuel pump, exhaust and intake and those little turboed balts will easily make well over 400hp. but like you said, the issues is they are wrong wheel drive
I love the new BMWs. my mom has the 750i with the M package. that bi turbo v8 can be pepped up REALLY easy too. If i had to stay on the cheaper side, id have to agree with Josh, G8.
If you want to be different, get an Audi Allroad. Thats what we got my wife, bought it for 9k. Hers has the 2.7 twin turbo v6 S4 motor,but you can also get them with the 4.2l V8 S4 motor. I just ordered all the parts to do a coil conversion to ditch the airbags and let her drive it until probably next year then buy her a new car and put some goodies on the Allroad.
