Any particular reason you went this route as opposed to just buying a roda and putting it in?

Ah got it, tks. I was working with Shocker outa Canada while back on this.
https://headwindsolutions.ca

Many pages back there is some pics of their idea we were set on. It was a pre-turbo velocity stack design. Once Mark illustrated how that setup can fail, I called them up again to discuss their post turbo designs. Which is basically same as Rota.

However when I gave them the boost psi and temps, they backed off saying their billet housings wouldn't withstand 500F + air temps pre-cooler sustained. Just like a 4ply coupler won't last but a half dozen hours in that position on a boat.

So that concern along with the tight clearance issues is what lead me to roll my own. These TB pieces are cut from some left over aircraft grade ingot chunks. Then we welded those Popular Oring clamp rings directly to it. Which I now consider the weakest link with a 400F rating. And rest is basically straight outa the other PASS designs. Trigger is little diff, cause they all use a fulcrum, as where I have no room for that style.

Hopefully never needs tripped, and doesn't trip by accident. Best I could come up with in this short timeframe.

According to Bullseye, these ceramic rolller bearing turbos can't blow the boost side seals and dump oil into intake. Supposedly...

Today's accomplishments, both charge coolers / upper intakes ready for final assembly.

Had to tap and plug the oem style map holes. Local hardware store only had 1/4" pipe plugs in bronze, will swap em out with SS socket heads someday later. Maybe..

Also had to do a little mill work where TB assemblies mate up. Machinist error, but a little grinding and no longer an air restriction.

Tomorrow I'll assemble and rig up some way to pressure test the water side of the coolers.

Ok kids, after some delays, PASS finished and dry fire tested.. Put the fwd stop on the far end of shaft. Passed the shake and impact test. Now to stake all the threads and bolt the freaking intakes on for final time.

For all the hours in em, gonna specify he test fires each one before checking the oil every day...

One thing I've learned about solenoids on this project, torque is relative to starting position. The further down the bore that pin sets, the less pull ya have to start with. Reason I set em tight to the wheels. At full stroke they wouldn't overcome throttle spring tension. But no issues with 75% of the pin inside the windings.

Might still step up that voltage to 24 or 36 just for good measue. Also gained a clear understanding why my old 6.0l Powerstoke ran like crap when the FICM burned out a resistor and dropped voltage below 48v. Same principles here as any std injectors..
