Funally got Stbd side fired up last weekend. All looks well on both engines and trans, so can mount the turbos up for good this time.

If you ever wanta build your own LBZ/LMM harness from scratch, please hit me up, and I'll talk ya outa that stupid idea.. I have all the ECM pins and connector numbers, even source for the secondary locks. Which I used up outa every factory harness on the property. I was only missing the Bosch machine used to assemble em. An important tool, unless you've installed several hundered DSP5 switches in a single month... lol

Seriously, it about whipped me, and like wiring work. But they are done now and since started on front accessory plate half of the job.. FUN FUN!!

Also Vibrant sells some junk.....

First failure I witnessed was one of their turbo band clamps explode on a friend's boat at only 50psi. Wrote it off defective part.

Then had a 6AN cooling line end fail on the dyno. Probably over tightened it, ok.

Last, fired up the second engine, 6AN turbo feed line is leaking at the block off cap. It's a swivel end, and no sign of damage, just leaks...

Replaced it with a Fragola while on the engine. Since that's straight off a mainline to the block, was worried about trash from end swap getting into the system. Luckily an empty tea bottle make a nice catch can. Crank to purge line, reinstall block off cap, problem solved..

Like that Mobil1, reasonable cold pressure now. And those anti-drainback filters fixed the dry fire issue. Makes 25lbs pressure on second revolution. Hits over 50psi before they fire :)

Time to finish up the front end.

I learned on the dyno, these things will still chuck a 6 rib belt just as quick as an old vee setup. Hope I get it right this time.. Then buy two new alternators and reclock the back half so pos terminal isn't tuck out in the wind...

I can't find a good picture, but the charge air cooler tubes on a Cummins QSK19 use two pieces of flat stock at tube connections. There is a bung welded onto the pipe, and the flat stock bolted to one side, and a slotted hole on the other end of the flat stock to allow expansion/contraction. Without it, the rubber hose connections would fail pretty much every time under the heat/pressure of the charged air.

You thinking of something like this

And I fixed one of his in FL last year. lol

Actually his work isn't to bad. Was just some LBZ to LMM pin differences. Same type setup I've done for a couple boats in the past. Where you use the oem engine harness and bale connectors, and just modify the chassis harness and fuse block.

I on the other hand thought it be cleaner to only used the engine connector leads and ditched the bale connectors. Well jury still out on that one..

~650 for standalone setup reasonable to you? It's 1/3 the cost I paid back in 2012 and I had issues with him(not Ken)

650s probably pretty reasonable. Ken's harness didn't use relays, only fuses to a,master power lug. With that setup you need to use a pretty high amperage rated ignition switch. Only possible issue I saw with it.

The bussman relay blocks I use are about $100 alone. But I like having relays and separate fuses on everything. Then ya can use a 15amp switch like ones pictured above.

Well hopefully next week I can get the turbos and intakes bolted back on for good. Then it's down to wrapping up front end of the engines hardware.

After 90 days of waiting around for a couple stainless threaded collars to be cut that attach those bellows to turbos, had to scrap the idea for now. Long story, but fits definition of a total cluster-F..

So going back to aluminum boost tube and will see if Vibrants HD boost clamps will last longer than their old style. That was 1 minute 15 seconds at 50+psi in a boat. Funny I just posted how crappy some of vibrant stuff is, but they are currently my only option.

Any suggestions on clockwise spring loading tensioner options?

Currently this A/C tensioner for a Cadi / Hummer was winning. However it's a counterclockwise action and light weight spring. Would like to check other options before finalizing this front accessory bracket plate.

Can’t wait to see you test this on the river. Should be a riot

Come give me a hand wrapping up these small jobs so it gets there before river freezes over..

Seriously need this puppy on the water and checked out before a 300 mile poker run first of Nov. So call out to anyone who can lend a hand couple days, expenses covered.

Don't miss your opportunity to take a ride, in this hemisphere !
