Well theres been alot of great turbo information thats been floating around on here lately and i thought id start a thread for turbo discussion because i wanna learn alot more before i go and buy one for my truck. If you have an aftermarket turbo say whatcha got and how it runs. And if you have a favorite charger that you arent runnin say what it is and why. If anyone has any questions or advice post it up too.

Im also in the market for a hairdryer. Ive looked at the cheetahs, but with the poor reliablility and the $3250 price tag i think i'll be going with something else.
Id get a 40/94 or a HTT.

It really depends on what your goals are. The factory charger is very good on models of Dmaxes, capable of supporting over 500rwhp.

Chargers on our trucks are kind of like cams are on a gas car. Bigger is not always better, it is tied into what you're trying to do.

My favorite chargers for "all-purpose", strip/towing/street are the PPE GT40-series and the High Tech Turbo chargers. All are capable of supporting 650hp+, yet fine for towing.

But my real favorite is the PPE GT4202R/GT42mag. These easily make 750hp+ and are surprisingly streetable.

I've run quite a few different chargers, and am still trying new setups. I'm currently testing PPE Twins.

usually a turebo up grade you already are running either efi live or PPE and have a built tranny

with single cp3 no hardware is needed main thing being studs.

one can run a 2.8/3.0 A5K/GT42 size turbo on a single cp3 but best left for the duel cp3s

66mm and smaller 4094, htt, db power max/S300 variants work really well with stock cp3 trucks and rod friendly pending tuning. and more tow friendly then the larger turbos

I know. Ive got Efi Live and ill be sending my trans to Mike L around the first week of March. And right now im thinking on the 71.5 Cheetah, or a GT40 series Garrett, havent decided which one of those yet though.

Id go with the gt series, a little less money, and more reliable IMO.

I love my MPI twins. They make great power, are very very streetable, EGT's are awesome, and towing is supposedly even better than with the stock turbo. I havent got around to towing yet so i can t tell you first hand.
