Cool I might need one down the road lol. Have you tried a different converter of yours in a lml? Which one works good? I don't like the stock converter the best in these trucks

I wonder about HP Tuners they gave up at the LLY?

They didn't. They support the LBZ/LMM 5/6 speed Allison etc. But they are not going to support the LML period... and now, their newest software release removed functionality to delete DPFs!! If I don't update, I still have the feature... pretty sucky situation though...

Makes me wish I had just bought another LBZ. Especially since I just found an 07 CCSB loaded with low miles for $27,500.

Has anyone found an easy way to fool the EGR yet, like a fingerstick? I would be happy just running a 50 horse tune with a 3" down pipe and deleted EGR.

The long term solution will be something like an EDGE box but with a full ECM in it. Reflashing the OEM ECM is going to get harder, and harder as time goes on.

The box will "see" the commands from the real ECM, and reply to the ECM with fictitious sensor data. Then the "box" will do the actual fueling control. This way, the OEM cannot detect or defeat the box. It will see a stock engine running normally, no matter what the engine is really doing.

I just wish I knew somebody who knew enough about electronics to assist me in building one. This will be really big if somebody pulls it off. It will work on all CR diesels with just connector changes. It won't even matter how many cyl the engine has.

The Solution, in my mind, is simply a replacement ECM. Open OS and tables. Stock ECM be damned.

It isn't a hard project. Just not enough market to cover the R&D. Then there is the moving target presented by the OEM with the constant model changes. Other companies like GM, Bosch, Holley...... are just so far ahead of the game it is a long way to catch up.

Rough example:

To cover a given year, you would have to sell 1000 units at $3500-$4000 to break even. 10,000+ units would drop you below $2000 but I don't think you could get below about $1,400 a unit in any limited market year.

x2. And even then, just getting it to run the engine is only the beginning.....if you wanted to run it in a stock truck and work like factory, there all the other things you would have to reverse engineer from scratch, such as making it work with the stock cluster, stock body modules, HVAC, stability control, trailer brake control, allison TCM.

ANd unfortunately none of those mfg-specific GMLAN messages are documented publicly...I think you can buy the papers from GM for a yearly subscription of $20k or something ridiculous like that though.
