Trans Go Jr Install Rant

Read some DIY threads on DF or DP it is not that simple of a DIY when you make one mistake read a few of the stories and finding that check ball that got loose etc. These shops are taking one heck of a risk for just the $250.00 for the install, $250.00 for fluid if they exchange all the fluid. One mistake or complaint and they have "bought" that transmission.

Just to get out of town I may just take trip to California and plan a few places to visit while I'm there...

Great point! Risk vs reward. Name your price and make it worth it because your name and reputation is on the line.

Its all part of working on any trans or engine, cleanliness, cleanliness, lighting, cleanliness. Without those, you will have issues. With them you can avoid many issues. Work benchs with raised edges keep parts from rolling away, transgel keeps the check ball in the valve. etc. Just part of working neat and clean.

You do pass that risk onto the shop, but you also take a risk they wont stand behind it.

They built the transmissions in both my trucks and I have been very pleased with how well they have held up. They did a package deal for me. I got full competition builds for $480 for both with a lifetime warrenty/tech support and free tire rotation.

hmm did that include billet intermediate shaft? they said they wanted another 50$ for that.....what a rip off
