My cam/heads/headers are going in friday.... need to get the ball rolling on this axle-wrap issue.

Don't try 1 1/4 .120 wall 6' long with cheater slicks look a lil like this after 3rd pass

I put in traction bars went a very cheap route and they have held up great. I had issues with the rear drive shaft eating ujoints at the axle end. This solved that problem for me. I went to TSC( Tractor Supply Company ) bought tractor draw bar hiems and cut 2 sets in half to get 4 joints then slid I believe it was 1 1/2 solid steel bar inside them and welded all the way around. I bought square stock the same width inside as the hiems and cut a "C" shape for the rear axle and welded them on. I took my truck to the strip and ran 14.70s with it on 38"s and a stock motor. LoL! My bars are solid mount as well and are around 5ft long. I took it all off though to 4 link my truck front and rear.

anyone want to build me a set of solid traction bars for around the price I can sell my Caltracs for? Definitely tired of the noise and don't have the patience to constantly dick around with adjusting them...plus not like I'm going to be racing a ton just want them to keep axle wrap under control a bit

DOM I should have never went with DOM that light. Building 1 1/2 .250 wall about 18" shorter this time. U live u learn lol

If you want more iron under you than Caltracs check out Tony Burkhard's bar kits. He will talk you thru what you need and options of making or buying them done from my reading. The price of iron is going crazy so I'd get them bought if this iron price keeps going straight up it's going to be a killer to buy fab materials. I like Caltracs run them all the time just slightly flex when you grab them and jerk on them with your arm hard is where I leave them set. They sure help launch straight on the street and I have gas shocks and air bags on the rear axle too so it rides OK it does it's job so I live with the slightly rougher ride with no axle hop it's fine by me. I lube the joints every 2 weeks to help stop the rattle and squeaks with the all purpose lubes with white grease or etc...
