The only tech at the tdp now is, what do i do to remove my dpf, pics of stacks, and are my injectors bad?, i believe that about wraps it up, oh wait, and a 70 page thread on cheetah chargers, that just came to an end. It is good during the summer for competition results, and the for sale section.:)

That is because most tech was posted by a handful of people and that handful of people was driven away by D'Amico due to his TTS Bias............it's only going to change when the DP decides to change it permanently which means the Nick and Chad and Cole no longer run the site in any way shape or form, period !!!!

Nick is the sole reason that the DP sucks now, his policies led to what you have there with all his banning he did and if you include the sale to AF without notice due to his greed and you now have what it has become...........a ghost town for tech.

Want to get rid of the problem, get rid of Nick, or neuter him as far as policy decisions !!!!!

:eek::eek::eek:

You are welcome here.
What I think you don't realize is that a lot of us here were there at day one to help Nick start TDP and contributed vastly to make it what it was.
We know things you will never know about what happened and promises made.
TDP had a plethora of talent and passion that will never again be seen in a forum. The diesel Stop 8 years ago was like that, but TDP blew them away as far as content, talent, and total tech.
Your preaching here falls on deaf ears if you're looking for converts. No offense. I am still a vendor at TDP and still contribute to help members but do not post very much tech there anymore. That stopped 3 years ago when Nick and Chad allowed Steve Cole to attack any vendor he wanted without retribution. Tech dried up there and won't come back, ever.
So; if you really want to help fix things, reinstate the banned members that can contribute or just STFU and enjoy the tech part of this forum. That is what it's all about anyways.:D

Mike if I could only get my points across as well as you do! You have hit the nail on the head and buried it deep, well said! :)

John and Andrew asked. I felt that maybe I could help. Maybe I'm wrong, but how will I know unless I try? How's about you and Pepp let me know what it is you want to see happen? Just give me some time to present it and get feedback. Since we dont have 24-7 Admins anymore, things take longer to get done. You know..typical corporate America at work.

Valiant effort but wasted time.

Unfortunately you or no one can do what needs to be done or can be done. It is very apparent what the future holds . You or anyone cannot stop it or sugar coat it or try and be a negotiator.

It's not like putting on a new pair of boots and walking off the stiffness for a more comfortable fit in time for the veteran vendors and members that wore out many a pair of boots putting the Place on the map.

Your better served to put your energy into the future wanderers that will support the Place in the new owners vision and those willing to accept the new way.

It is what it is.

Mike, I already knew that and I'm not looking for anything except a little less whining and complaining about DP. I've done my homework,so I know what went on. Now lets let this drop, cause I'm tired of discussing it .

This is an interesting discussion. We have a similar one too. I have to admit that I contemplated closing down that whole bitching designed section but I'd probably end up getting a ton of flak for it. I just dont like to see the moderators get bashed for their decisions. If they choose to stick with it, so be it.

Mackin has solid points. Its taken me a while to see some of them but persistence has its benefits. Mack, you truly are a pain in the ass. :p

Josh2002, why did you never respond to my pms? I do believe I did apologize....(?)

We ended up taking a poll here whether we would allow discussion of other board's politics. #1 was "don't care", #2 was "yup", and #3 was "no". We had removed several threads prior, but as long as it doesn't interfere with the tech here, we are going permit it. I'll admit I'm undecided what path is best, and did not vote.

The problem is that much like gov't politics and religion, it breeds anger. And if it boils over to the tech, we get no choice but to remove it.

But for now, it will remain.

Folk reading need to understand these conversation were held privately over the phone and in PM's for years about these problems. I have communicated with Nick and Chad many, many times over the years as well as with many staff members. So it's not like I suddenly griped out of the blue about something I never tried to fix privately. I know many others did the exact same thing, but it was ignored. Only when Nick sold the board did it boil over publically to such a large degree. I considered Nick and Chad to be personal friends for years and had met both of them numerous times. But it seemed the friendship was one-sided.

And that sir is the proper way to handle this. There is NO doubt things should and need to be said today . What the hell we spent what 5 years talking it up and we can not have 6 months of talking it down at the minimum. :D

As long as it is in proper place and properly done there is NO need to stifle good conversation. I thank you for allowing me to have an opportunity to have a voice .

In repayment I'm always on the look out in the tech area to help a fellow diesel head!

You know my red X says ban Johnny for insulting staff member,   .

Just playing with ya man :D.

You know...I was always a member first and still am even though where I am now I have duties...But when I was member at DP...I always resented those power hungry remarks made by moderators whether in jest or serious...I've never stated/wielded my power ...in jest or openly threatened to use it nor considered removing anyone from the forums for their mistakes...

it always bothered me that certain mods had to "show" they were mods...

If I ever get that way I hope Nick(unit453) has the sense to ban my ass for not being a member first...

As far as the complaining goes...live with it...if you don't allow Admin Stew to go on a power trip and quell all opposing voices...it will go away...except the occasional flare up when AF takes the next step to screw with the vendors and members...

and for the couple members that complain about the mass complaining...they'll have to live with it too...if they can live with those ads and the screwing the vendors are taking with the ads...and say they can learn to ignore the ads...then they can learn to ignore the complaining...

It is when you close threads and censor the members it only works against you further...and that is the plain and simple truth that you need to come to grips with...

Hope this helps you DP mods in your future endeavors...

I can remember a few years ago when i did a search on the d-max since my 02 was my first one and knew very little about it. I was a psd guy before and test drove the 02 I never looked back. When I did a search the first one I came to the TDP. IdahoRob, McRat, Tony, MikeL, Tony Burkhart, Eric and a few others I've done searches on to look at their posts in the past and found a ton of usefull info from them. Even Cole had his moments of help. The site was a good tech board unlike other site I use to belong to and did like the contriversy that came with it to a degree. One day I clicked and no McRat or Tony. Didn't think much about it until someone mentioned them getting banned. Thought to myself why would you ban people that help the average guy get his or her truck to where they want it. Looked in the vendor section and they was gone there too. Yesterday I looked in the vendor section and didn't see IdahoRobs banner there. Thought WTF is going on but I did see some new ones like Discount Tire or something like that. Not a site worth anything for the performance crowd anymore. Looks like it's being whored out to any vendor wanting to put their name there hoping for a sale. Not vendors there helping their fellow d-max guy out like before.

I see Nick D'Amico taking suttle shots at SoCal Diesels 7.1 stoker kit. That has to make Guy really feel warm and fuzzy after paying his money to be a vendor there. Guess it can't be any good if Stevie didn't make it.
You DP mods would be better served having a meeting with him about this kind of stuff. He has done it to me also.

I remember when Nick D'amico "welcomed" me as a vendor there.

I posted offering a service: ABS recalibration for $70? for those with tires bigger than 35". It was the first thing I offered for sale, IIRC.

Nick and other vendors (Nick is a vendor) chewed me out for charging for that service, and offered to do it for free. I asked for the thread to be removed, and he refused. Nice welcome after the check cleared, eh?

Later, I referred a couple guys to Nick so he would do it for free. Apparently, the offer was bogus.

Man those were the days that I think we all miss. Rob fell off the list because they aren't smart enough to keep things to date

Pepp: I was being funny,he was being a smartass and I was trying to make a joke out of it rather than fall into his negativism. You'll probably see me around here a bit more now I suspect, time will tell . Hopefully I can fit in alright.

I understand your intent and I'm not saying you're a bad guy for it...I was just giving my take as a member there and how I felt about those type of comments when thrown out there...even in jest...
