Shameless plug:
This site was started as a way to for me to share info with my friends and customers without getting harrassed or edited.
When we went "public" with it, the flavor pretty much remained the same. While we have moderators, they don't have much work to do. The biggest thing we need moderators for is to give advice on board layout, testing, policies. The vendors don't fight much for a performance board (all boards have that to degree), and we have never had to ban a diesel enthusiast.
I picked Rob, who is a Chevy car guy, to run the software/hardware of the board so that we have a 100% neutral party running things. It has proven to be a wise choice.
I can be a hot-head and an arrogant cuss. Rob helps "detune" me and gives me a reality check.
This board is more a "family and friends" board than it is a commercial venture, and always will be. There are advantages of being a small board, and we want to keep those advantages even if the board grows. So far I think we have succeeded.
