Hey this aint technical!

No I have no idea how it was fixed. The Quad 215 tune was a ECM downloader calibration. Something must have been found in the program and a table fixed. Funny thing is only SOME trucks were effected. Took awhile to find

Quad gave me a experimental 135 tune once. To this day I never ever had a tune that would come out of the hole llike it. It would burn the tires up ,then it was over. :D

Good or should I say excellent around town tune stop sign to stop sign.

That 135 with the Edge Box on kill was crazy.........

Well excuse me, but go to Hell Mike..

I did not deserve that remark from you.

:dontknow:

Others do it and it is ok but if I do it then it is not?

Guess your ban did not help you any...

Let me ask you this.
How long would you have put up with your kind of posting when you were a mod? 1 minute . You hammered newbies when they posted filter questions in the wrong place. You know better.

Reading peoples PM's is a bunch of BS, that is private no one should be reading those. I had a similar thing happen on my own Forum with one of the Admin's, my self and the other owner set a trap and he took the bait..we bounced his ass to the curb perminately. As owners we don't invade others privacy either. Pat..Thanks for setting this up to have a place to hang out!!!!

I get that.... Mine did too...:D Until it limped. Now it kinda lugs thru first and second and comes alive in 3,4,5. It's still hella fun to romp around on. That heavy fuel low down makes for a lot of smoke though.... That can get annoying at times....

Quad was very active on TDP when it first started...up until he got booted...
I still have one of his old handhelds that has checked and cleared many TCM codes.

But everyone should be aware that TDP staff does read this board, and has "punished" folk who say things they don't like on here. That's a very bad precident, but they aren't the only ones. If you value your membership on TDP, you should not speak out publically here assuming it's "safe".

Time for enthusiasts to take back over the enthusiast boards.

Looks like they finally got wind of the market share problem. "This just in from our correspondent from Chicago". The governor has granted stays for all. I here there may be an opening soon. You may find yourself back in the chair.

Always seems to revolve around money! So transparent.

I think Quad did very well on the Place. Even after he was banned there was plenty of representation with results at the track and other vendors then of course there was Cartercraft. :D

In the end it was the same old same old you stole this you copied this blah blah blah. Hypocrisy at it's finest!

The flip flop allegiances through out the old days from one tuners camp to the other switching was fun to participate in. :D

Yes it was , the 60's would have been crazy if you could get traction.

I have to believe someone has a copy of it some where buried in a Predator I wish I did. :D

I still have my Edge box...............

Is Quad still putting out good power, or has EFI pretty much ended the search for the best handheld?

I thought the 165 setting with my edge on 5 was the best, except for the surge. 215 just didn't feel as good as 165:confused:. I have both 135 and 165 on file, but never used them other than reference. I don't think they had the " Smooth " function on there software like EFI:D

Ya I forgot about that loppey idle. There were actually two 215 tunes. One that you could stack and one you could not.

There is nothing wrong with a downloader or plug and play. With the introduction of EFI the sky became the limit for customizing in custom applications.

Certainly with EFI you can address all drive ability issues for smooth linear power. With the canned tune or a stack there is no way around small hiccups that you may or may not like.

It's all up to the consumer and their wallet. But for dollars to donuts the right 215 Quad and a Hot Edge box for all around power in a stock LB7 and built transmission is a heeping lot of fun. You can get both of these items cheap today

Mackin, I find your avatar as offensive as your tongue. I don't know that you should be referencing small 4 legged mammals so liberally.

How about coming up with something original. You might finally impress someone.

Why would I want to steal any of your limelight Micheal? What's impressive is the mark I've obviously left on you. :baby: :D

Copy that. For some reason the 135 tune seemed hotter than the later 215 tune???

Dont know if this is true or not, but it feels (SOTP) like the 135 fuels harder at low rpm than the 215 does. Like I said earlier, the 135 tune makes a lot of smoke for only being a 135hp tune. I prefer the 190 over the 215 though, more drivable, and back when the trans still liked me, it'd lay track all the way thru 2nd..... That was nice. :D

Better yet, when the bed's empty (remember, its a 2wd, red cab) and cruising @ 65 and you lay into with the 190 hooked up, the truck would leave about 10 ft of track once it downshifted to 4th.... Something to be said about having the lightest model duramax pickup out there.... :p

My kingdom for a transmission worthy of monster burnouts....
