Then you have guys like the one I dealt with last weekend. I do tuning on the side as a hobby when I'm able to help pass the time. I don't charge much, mostly just enough to cover the VIN license, and my V2 in case it quits on me. I do it through a friends shop, and it helps him as he makes money off of it, and I get something to do every once in awhile. A guy came to him to tune an LLY, we were all set, then he found another local guy who promised him the world(smoke which I will not do, 500+ HP and his stock trans to hold, and 30MPG, you know the drill). They end up calling me to come look at it because the guy fried his ECM trying to flash it. Went and looked at it, and the ECM was fine, he had left the aftermarket chime module installed when he tried the flash, and it interrupted it after the erase command was sent. He then charged them to tune it AGAIN because he said it was a VIN problem with his truck, and he had wiring that caused it. I looked at it with the radio module unplugged, and had no trouble linking to the ECM, but it was blank needing a tune put in it. They had me talk to him to see what all he did, he swore he didn't do anyhting to it besides license it twice, and who was I, where do I get my tunes, theres no way I write my own as it's just to complicated. So I proceeded to ask him did you read the stock file out? He said no, so I asked how did you aquire the base file to tune it? He started babbling, so then I asked did you get the VIN and find a file that way? Turns out he bought an unlocked file from somebody else, and is just flashing the same file into everybodies truck he does, and is charging them $600 a pop to flash and put in a DSP5 switch. The guy even had an EDGE, so I said why didn't you set it up for serail switching? He hung up the phone on me.

So be VERY carefull who you get to tune your truck, and like said above, make sure you can get ahold of them for retunes, and how much retunes cost.
Oh yea Im trying to be REAL careful. Truth be told I HATE anyone working on any of my vehicles when the rare time does come. I sure as hell wont be having some no name tuner doing it. Friend or not. I'll pass. Im just waaaay to anal for that. Especially when these trucks cost as much as a small house. Thanks for the heads up though.

The way I see it is if its good enough for some of the main highly respected guys on here then its good enough for me. Just going thru threads and seeing what sigs say and making a list of companies to call.

Is there a need for 6 tunes on my application? Im thinking not. Thinking maybe a tow and hot for mpg. I CAN control my right foot knowing trans is not built and how much they are so thats motivation enough not to beat on it.
There is no DSP tuning for the LML, so if that's what you're referring to, you don't need to worry about that.

No actually I was referring to Tony's website that offers the 5 pack tuning. Yea sucks about the DSP5. Is there ANY talk about this coming out soon? If so I can wait. Seems tunes are waaay more pricey than I remember before. Times be a changing I guess.

Do these tunes load fast or not? I have full EFI Live suite with the V2 I bought years ago. Its all up to date as Ive been tuning my 8.1L swap recently with it. Im semi retarded on it all though. Do I need the laptop to load tunes or can I go straight from V2? Pretty sure V2 will load em but Ive always used laptop.

Also is there any special procedure to load em? Just trying to figure out if its worth spending $500+ on more than 2 tunes?

There are step by step instructions on Kory's site that will walk you through the process, its a little more involved then the previous generations. You can load the tunes to your V2 and then just load them directly without a laptop or they can still be loaded with your lap top and V2 in conjunction. If you are buying multiple tunes its nice to have them on the V2 so you can change them on the move without a laptop.

I always use Kory and have tuned numerous trucks with his tunes without any issues. And haven't had any problems getting in touch with him but I am a dealer for him so that helps.

I have tonys tunes on my lbz and just recently flashed a single moonshine tune on to my friends LML who was tired of dealing with tier 4. I took it for a spin and I really liked how it drove. He has been very happy with it also.

IF I was to pay somebody else for a tune(I do my own as of right now), I would go with somebody I could call up and talk to. I DESPISE emailing or texting to try and describe a problem, a phone call is so much more personnal and easy to communicate. Tony would get my vote if it was mine as I know he answers his phone, and is willing to talk and listen. Nothing against any of the others, but when it comes down to having to email your tuner, thats a killer for me. I know several others felt this way as I remember fixxing some of the big name tuners issues for people back when they still sent out unlocked tune files just because they didn't want to have to email and wait for changes to be made.

I loved how my PPE Hot+2 E.T. Race tuner made my truck run on the 300 tune. I can honestly say I miss it. Ran my best time with it too. I know it has nothing to do with LML tuning but I thought I would share that.:D

I'd go with Tony @ RidgeRunner if email tuning was the only option. Kinda sucks Mark isn't working with the LML, but I can't blame him, seems Kory is having enough trouble.

OK whos running ATP tunes in an LML? PM me feedback if so. Guess its narrowed down to him or Kory unless others have more ideas.

Kory gets my vote for the lml trucks when you want delete tuning ui have zero issue as dealer getting in touch with Kory(90% by email) also you can run bigger then 100hp tunes on the lml trans will hold up.

I've tuned multiple lmls with Korys tunes no issues to date

I have heard nothing but good things about Kory and his tuning. I have tuning by Idaho Rob and love it. Also, I have called ATP a few times with a couple of questions and their customer service is amazing. Again, I love ATP tuning but I wouldn't hesitate to use Kory's tunes either.

I run and sell Kory's tuning. I sell it because I believe he is one of the best out there. He is trying to keep up with demand and that's not easy. There are bumps in the road but that's life.

I am installing the first TCM tune for an LML tonight. Looking forward to it because while the LML is a beast even on a mild tune... the trans really needs the help.

I would love to try Danville's tunes though at some point. It's too bad Mark's not doing the LML's.

Also- if anyone has any issues... Feel free to contact us! We do our best, but we are for sure all human. Glad to help anyone that needs it!

Mark, Tony, Nick, Rob, etc. are all known for a reason... Fe-nominal tuners. I wouldn't be scared to let them tune my personal stuff... I just so happen to do it for a living :)

I drove a Motorops tuned deleted LML while my now wife was driving my LMM with Korys tunes and my truck blew the ass off the LML, and I had a shuddering stock trans at the time.
The LML was on its big tune, and my truck was on the 100 horse tune

If the LML didn't have a lift pump running on the big tune it was WAY down on RP. Mine drops to 17k without a lift pump and holds 29 to 28 with it, it literally made as much of a difference as the tuning did. Tell your buddy he better get a lift pump...:D
