I cheer everytime a Dmax goes fast weither it has an Allison, ZF6, or duraflite, and feel we should root for all the GM Dmax's that go fast weither they are self tuned or "supertuned". It takes a lot of time, money, and effort to get one to go this fast. The true heros are the ones that get their hands, and wallet, bruised, busted, bloody and dirty.

Cheers to that:beer

I know of two Dmax's in the 9's both with a Duraflite. Is this dig pointed at both of those trucks?

I will not speak for Buck, but we made the choice before even building the truck. At the time of planning we made the choice to run a Duraflite. It has around 50 passes in the 10's, most being low 10's and faster. The truck weighs 6000+lbs.

The same tranny is untouched and still in the truck. We swapped a converter after 35+/- passes not because of failure, but because Ron at Suncoast recommended it and sent us a new one.

I really give kudos to Jay for the time, hard work, sacrifice, and hard money spent getting his truck to this level. I also give kudos to any allison builder that can keep it together at this level.

Rob,

Nothing is directed at you, your maxxed out truck or Buck and Jess, it is a dig at Steve Cole who has told everyone for years what can and cannot be done and has been proven that he is wrong more often than he is right.

Jay's truck is a lot heavier than 5800-6000 lbs so if takes a lot of work to get it where it is from everyone involved, I am only one part of the whole puzzle along with all the suppliers and advice givers on the build. I feel honored that I am trusted to tune a lot of these expensive builds, nothing is scarier than tuning a $50K engine/trans combo and knowing that you have to do your best and not be careless about it to make it live at these levels.

So if you were offended I was not throwing a dig at you, but if Steve Cole reads this and is offended then I will sleep good tonight knowing he is pissed off at me again..............

To me it is about proving people wrong who have nothing to say except bad things about other people, Cole digs at Mike L Me , Trippin, Pat, and the list is long and all of us compete against him in everything we do and beat him a lot of the time. He just doesn't like it and he needs to grow up and move on.......:D........we all would like to ignore him but he is like a bad dream, he won't go away.

Sorry for my OT rant.

My old truck has had the D-5196 80 to 100 TPS turned up for 240,000 mile (245,000 on the trans) and the trans is as good as the day it was put in ? 25 to 30 pulls and at lest 100 time down the track 12.3 not bad for 436,000 miles :D

I had the trans redone by big dipped after all this. Trans went back in the truck with robs tuning and I went 11.6s. Trans was pulled out since I sold my reg cab and was put into my crew cab. At the same time George checked the clutches and replaced the c3s since he had it apart but told me they showed minimal wear. Good tuning does wonders :D
