I guess my question is, how many times has the truck run a 12.5? Was it a one shot deal, or did it do it every time out?

I've heard reports of a 150 degree EGT drop. Would you agree?

EGT's are lower cruising not WOT.

So it seems to spool quicker but yet runs same et with same tune and temp is warmer? all the time to install. Hard to make worth while with those results. I was wanting to do this to but unless u get better numbers I may not.

It actually ran .2 slower probably because it was warmer, not really sure it needs more testing.

bad thing about testing is when you go to the track different day= alot of different variables
track temp, air temp, track prep etc

maybe he could post time slips of before and after and we can try to judge it by that

Even if the wheel did help it should have at least ran the same times it did before even though it was warmer.

Ran consistent 12.57-12.62

Even though it was a hotter day. I would have liked the truck to run at least a 12.57. I still think it needs to be fine tuned, but I do not believe it will be any faster than 12.4 in the best conditions. The truck also smoked more than usual. Not moving enough air or the temp affected the truck more than I thought.

When you made those 12.6-12.5 runs in what month was it? I know mine runs 2.-.3 an 2-3mph slower during the summer.

A few years ago Pat stuck an LBZ turbo on Casper and the spool up was quicker and the truck felt faster. We all drove it and were impressed. At the track it ran slower. We got fooled by the quicker spool up. Pat can give more details on this.

 I guess im still baffled, if it spools quicker and makes the same boost then how can it be slower at the track?

How quick does a stock VVT under a boosted launch take to reach full boost? not very long at all. If you went from a standard cast S475 to a billet or batmo wheel the faster spool up would help you go quicker because there is less of a lag.

I'd say for the time it takes to put in, it's not worth the money IMO. Like said, on a bigger laggy turbo then it will help some.

What im asking is why is it spoooling faster but running slower?

I could never make heads or tails of my last question either....apparently neither can anyone else. I think it has a much better chance of working on an lb7 than any of the later models, but what do i know:eek:

if you can afford the $400 wheel and then most people will pay to get it installed, then saving a bit longer will get them a whole new charger will a LOT more potential?
In the end it prob not as cheap/easy as it seemed at first?
