How many of the pro-stock pulling tractors do you know of that run factory intake/exhaust manifolds or the turbo in the stock location??? Exactly, none...why is that?

I bet in a few years the top sled pullers will be remote mount turbo equipped trucks with a custom intake such as this item from Banks. I guess like Ben said, this isn't for 99.8% of us, so why not leave the questioning of this product to the guys who might actually run one and not complain about relocating his turbo...you know all .2% of us.

yeah ok banks thats all fine and dandy. We all realize the stock setup sucks and Im not doubting your gee-whiz setup isnt 100x better, but how does this apply to anyone without a custom tube chassis dmax-powered race car? We are limited/restricted to using the (poor) stock setup because thats the only way it will still fit in a pickup truck with a turbo in the stock location. So why are you trying to sell us something that 99.8% of us dont even have a use for?

next product please..

Ill leave the ooo-ing and ahh-ing to everyone else.

Ben for years people complained Banks didnt do anything for the real racers and now that they have ......The people complain:confused:

If you dont like it thats fine......But the more options the better IMO

I agree that its not for most people including me.....But why bash it?

Just because puting this intake on your own truck is beyond your abbilities doesn't make it useless. There really isnt that much work that has to be done to use it. Relocate turbo and new plumbing....BFD...easy project. The biggest PITA would be the wiring, but its feasable.

what about clearance with the radiator/fan? or is this a "no filters" setup? also, i can't see how increased boost isn't desired even with increased volume:confused: i think EDP has a perfect design going with their super/turbo-charged LMM beast. similar but with greater street potential i think.

Have you guys thought about just putting a Y bridge back in there?

Maybe spread out the runners so we can still fit a turbo in the valley

The proble there would be air distribution to the cylinders. The Duramax head is a little different then a typical 4v head in that the ports aren't right next to each other and they are different lengths. Getting both ports to flow at the same rate if very difficult as it is but even more so when the individual ports have unequal air flow to begin with. To get the maximum air delivery to the cylinders this was the only practicle solution. On the up side the manifold includes the block off plate for the turbo and (with lly and up engines) the hard line for the fuel system

we've actually sold 1 of them before. not sure to who though. i think it's a cool looking set up and would run it in a heartbeatm, if i could take Kenny into giving me one, but imo it would take a ton of tuning time to get it right. And you're right unless it's a dedicated pulling or racing truck it wouldn't be very practical.

Can't you guys come up with a practical LLY alternative? Some of us don't want to see the goodyear blimp. :)

every one needs to remember that the only reason we have this peice is they engineered it for there racing engines , not to sell to the masses , we are lucky to have these as a option . and i dont think they would sell enough to the average diesel customers . we on this site are not average :D

I was thinking something in the lines of the old Edelbrock Streetmaster manifold. It was a low rise single plane short runner shit manifold that when coupled with a Paxton SC would move more air than any setup Paxton tried. I used this setup on my Cobra kit car and made insane power. I was running under 10 psi but it felt like more.

actually i know of quite a few, not pro stock but super farms and such as the rules require them to run the stock manifolds.

Im glad banks is finally bringing their race products to market instead of building trucks with parts we could never buy.

But i doubt many of us will be able to use it at all. Looks like a lot of work

I dont give much credit to the unequal stock setup either so in my eyes anything would be better:)

LLY and newer doesn't concern me:D
