I've not dealt with motor sports sponsors, myself, but I have dealt with sponsors at a pro-am snowboarder level, and my oldest daughter has numerous sponsors for her MX pursuits. And I can say this, Sponsors are great, BUT, theres more to having a sponsorship than wearimg a name...you sell yourself to them! And I mean that in many ways. You have to compete when and where they want, dress how they want, speak to who they want you to and take pictures whenever they want...and most times there's performance clauses in contracts that stipulate if you don't meet the requirements of the contract, any and all costs that were incurred as part of the contract will be repaid by you or through the endorsements of your contract, and sometimes those requirements can be as insignificant as wearing the proper gear in public at an event
Having a sponsorship isn't a "free ride" at all, it's a commitment, it takes effort to attain them and its work to keep them and if you're not approaching having a sponsorship with the attitude of "work" and that THEY DONT OWE YOU and you're nothing to a big name, you won't get far:hug:
