same pig new lipstick, yal would money ahead just paying off one truck and fixing it when it breaks. hell we just put a new motor in a 05 cost me 4 grand total. How many times could you do that before you can justify buying a new one for that much cash?
Buy a $20k used truck with cash, body and drive train in good shape....

8/30/2015 300,000 miles repairs 1,500 ...... etc crap breaking
8/30/2016 325,000 miles rust repair maybe new paint job $4,000
8/30/2017 370,000 miles etc repairs 2,000 ..... junk breaks
8/30/2018 400,000 miles new motor $5,000
-----------got $42 grand in it now if a whole bunch of crap breaks in this 8 years
8/30/2019 450,000 miles more crap wears out, maybe injectors $3500
8/30/2020 480,000 miles crap breaks $2,000
8/30/2021 535,000 miles new motor $5,000
11 years and $53 grand total, that is over estimating repairs I'm sure, let me know if you disagree.
Or you can go out and buy a new one.... $20,000 in interest over the 6 years apprx (60 months) and 56k price out the door on the truck.... payments and full coverage insurance for the pig with new lipstick every month.... Grand total of $76,600 apprx for 6 years not counting the extra cost of having to pay out the ass for full coverage. Then when the warranty goes out add up all the crap I listed above and add it to your shiny new truck that will eventually wear out and ultimately end up in a junk yard.
just saying.... am i crazy here?? or yal just love new trucks and have money to burn?
like me I got a super slick 05 from my boss with a blown motor for cheap, it is gunna take a lot of years and motors to equal the cost of going and bending over at the dealer for a new one

Nah he aint buying it for my benefit. He is probably buying it because he thinks they are really nice, he can afford the payments and insurance, and because new things are always fun. All i was pointing out is look at how much money is going to get spent! I mean, shazam. almost 60 thousand for a new truck is insane. you can buy land instead and keep what truck you got, then look forward 30 40 years and see which investment is worth more. Land will probably have tripled in value if the u.s population keeps exploding like it is.

Some people have enough money to buy land and a new truck, You do know that some people can write their trucks off and decide getting a new truck is better then paying tax. Life wouldn't be much fun if you did everything the economical way. BTW how do you know he didn't pay cash for the new truck?
you sound like if you gave him the money to do what he wanted with and is now pissed at his choice? why dont you go buy land and let the people who buy new trucks enjoy them. Mikes a big boy, im sure he knows what hes doing. also let us know how much money you have wraped up in your '05 when its running.
