Harpin, as well as others implimed that hazing when started cold was a symptom of bent rods. That is an untrure statement. Thats all I disagreed with...

How do you figure that bent rods will not cause a haze at idle? What do you think bent rods do to the compression that our motors have to have to ignite the fuel completely

Hey man. Im not trying to argue. Haze at opertaing temp is not always normal and could indicate low compression...

Haze on a cold start does not...

Yall need to READ more carefully...

Prove it...

How do you know that???

Just bc they were all bent when you took it apart means very little bc when it let go it was out of blance and easily could have shortened every othe rod...

Duhhh...

Edit - No personal Insults - Pat

Have you ever experienced a duramax with a broken rod? I didnt think so. When they break rods, 9 times out of 10 they stop dead due to everything being instantly locked up.

"the rotating assembly out of balance made the other rods short"... EDIT no personal insults PAT

Hazing at idle can totally be a symptom of bent rods! Because the motor is low(er) on compression, ENPIP. Why do you think the big pull trucks that run 15:1 or lower are hazing/smoking when they roll up to the starting line?

My truck started hazing noticeably more in the last couple thousand miles before it broke a rod a few years ago. (all the others were bent when I took it apart)
