We already know that you and the so called others know how to put them together. :thumb:
Nope, we just throw junk together.

Yeah, I wussed out:spit: No Mike I did not have a nut under my intake valve :thumb: But the installation was done by me and others, that way no fingers are pointed.
Well guys, I think I will make it within 2 years!
Dan, Luis and the rest of the guys at PPE are finishing the truck and getting things going. Im glad I took it down there - some problems were already identified and are being fixed! Updates shortly....
And by the way, the truck DOES start and run :cool2:
Sorry Mike, I was going to stop by when I was down but I was on a tight schedule for school finals.
Dan thinks the truck may have a cracked flexplate so it's heading to your place afterwards to drop trans, flush, c3 oiler and insPection. Also talk about the 1057 in there right now.
Im sorry to say, but it has been very misleading. I dont blame him for not knowing whats going on, at one point and time, the starting issue was fixed, and the turbo pipe had to be fixed and wrapped and it was going to be done. Then a few post later it had a tick, so yes, he could have easily got confused. As far as the finger pointing game, its easy to play, but it gets old. Everybody is human and makes mistakes, not one diesel shop/fabricator is perfect in this world... also everybodys opinion of complete and done the way the want it is different. We had to do a lot of work to PPEs twin turbo kit they sent me to fit my likings, how stuff fit, drive pressure maxing out a 150psi gauge, and buying a few clamps, some hoses, some wastegate piping and a wastegate to finish it up, but hey, we got it done, and it looked and ran a lot better after it was really done and then it was truly a good twin kit, I see that they have improved all of that since i have got mine by looking at Dmitris (which i would hope), thats part of the game, you live and learn. Like I said, its always easy to point fingers, that doesnt mean its the best thing to do.
Gonna hopefully address the oil leak in the morning. Appears to be the turbo drain, not sure what that means. Wont be taking it to SEMA.
Hoping its just the nuts - figured cuz its something I did lol. I did reuse the gasket though.... I beleive. Cant remember if the new kit came with them, as I was piecing some parts together. Initial look cant even see the drain nuts, anyone have any tips on best way to access it? Top or bottom, side, removal of parts, etc?
Hahhahahahaha
I got a big nut. That is utterly ridiculous! That did not just "fall" in there.
So do you mean Matt shouldn't have brought his truck to anyone to do any work to it? He should have done all the work himself, that way he would only be able to blame himself?
Not jumping on your back, just a question. ..
OK you need to read from page 55 forward....
On 12-11 @9:11am post #816 Matt posted he dropped off the truck at the shop. On 12-12 @ 7:30am post # 822 he posted about my comment on the ticking noise and my thoughts on it being a broken flexplate (the call was made about the tick 5-6 hours after it was dropped off). We had not even started on any Fab or repair work other that getting it started and pulled in the back shop on the lift... The miss/tick noise was there from day one of it being dropped of to us...
Please tell me what our FIRST prototype twin turbo kit has ANYTHING to do with this thread...? You knew when Tim/You bought the kit (at a VERY special price) what it came with and was supposed to do... We all knew it would need mods for your plans on your build up. That was part of the deal and special price (on the kit, not the turbo's).
Do you have a dog in this fight? Or just trying to cloud the issue???:hello:
and it begins
Nope, we just throw junk together.
What would have happened earlier?
That nut has been in there every times its been run since it came back from Russ.
Sorry, but you just dont have any idea whats goin on here. This was obviously the "tick" that Dan said he heard immediately, that I posted here was thought was a cracked flexplate.
Compression was checked before any bolt was removed on the engine - Cylinder 5, the cylinder that this nut was found in, had 50 psi. You telling me that the nut holding the valve open wasnt in there until they tore it down to solve the 50 psi issue? Riiiight.
Nah, nothings beginning, the truck is getting fixed properly finally like it should. Im sure Matt will be happy once its on the road.
Then I do a burnout :happy2:
Thanks for the head handoff....
