Truck has as low as 50 psi of compression in some cylinders, Russ's bling bling oh la la custom intake manifold is a $1000 piece of shit paper weight that is warped and leaked beyond the point of fixable.

Im pretty much over it - I think it will be put up for sale if it ever runs correctly.

matt maybe im missing something stupid, but how the hell does an intake manifold affect cylinder compression.

wow that was a good long read, I havent been on here in a week or so and I had to catch up over the last couple pages.

Matt- im sorry to hear about all the troubles and everything...I know its going to be a good feeling when everything is done. PPE will get you all fixed up and it will be worth it.

BUT. I think its silly to point fingers at Russ with this. You had your mitts in there (messing around with the turbo and oil drain and stuff) just as much as Russ did, it could have just as easily been you than him who dropped the nut in there....even though I know its easy to blame russ because you two had a falling out and russ didnt come up with his end of the deal or whatever that whole situation was.

Like I said, I dont know the details on the whole thing, I dont know Russ and im not sticking up for him, im just looking at the whole thing from a third-person view...

Any pictures of this warped bridge? With a machinist's straight edge for reference? Im just curious how it looks and where it was warped.

matt, I dont think it is fair to ask someone to stay out of your thread, you did post it on a public forum. its as if one of my "friends" on facebook made comments on my build pictures and I asked them not to comment anymore without "de-friending" them. I agree with Ben here that it COULD have been either you or him. It is totally your prerogative to have your build thread be a bashing thread towards the person of your choice, but where does it get you in the end?

I dont know, it's just my opinion, but as they say - everyone's got one, and they all stink.

Gotta stir the pot a little! This thread is rediculous! Why would you take on a project of this magnitude when its obvious you have no clue how to even work on a duramax! Some people need to know their limitations! I bet PPE is happy with all the shop time they get to charge you to fix it though! Good luck.

By all means I am no bad ass Dmax guru like some of the guys on here but I do know when to do it myself and when to let the pros handle it. I'm sure one day I might have to let somone else work on my rig. Maybe......

Did you miss something.... He took his truck to a fabricator, and had his engine built by a reputable engine buider...He never attacked the truck himself. is issue came sometime after the fabricator did his work, and something went wrong. It is now at PPE getting fixed because he does not want the fabricator doing any more harm than what he thinks has been done...

Where did he say he tried to do all this work himself and then messed up now has to pay PPE to do it???

No, I'm pretty sure I read it all. Sounds like he could have invested in a Dmax manual to begin with. Where to put bolts, how to install injectors, turbo issues, intake manifold installation pics, exhaust manifold installation.....and so on.

Your contradicting yourself....

You first said he should take it somewhere to have it all done...

Then you say he should buy a manual to know how to do everything....

Which is it?

He did take it to someone in the beginning to have it all done...

How is the truck? I've been in the bush for four days, is the head back from Guy?
