This thread makes me want to keep my s472. Sounds like I will be happy when I dial in the tuning.

In a big single its a 3 sided equation right turbine / housing ,tcm/ecm tuning and converter choice one weak link and you could find yourself unhappy trust me i know lucky for me my weak like was easily fixed

What would you run? My plans: built motor, mild cam, 60% inj, 60% single cp3, looking for 800rwhp, was debating on a 467 billet w/ race cover rated 950hp+

2001 LB7 ccsb - few mods 450rwhp+

You should look at a 78cast/92twor87 1.10 housing

Or a gtx4502r

For what's he looking for that seems like a bit much. Wouldn't you want to go with improved drivability for those goals. I would think a S472 or a GTX4202R would be perfect.

Can either one of those produce 800rwhp backed by track times?

I agree they will have much better street manners no doubt.

Did a little painting to finish the setup.

Also dented the driver side intercooler pipe so it wouldn't rub on the hydro booster anymore. Nice and quiet now, no more vibrations. I need to try and find an oring to seal the hot side intercooler vband. Using rtv but if you don't let it cure for awhile it just blows out under boost...doesn't cure very well in 20 degree weather.

Alright never mind, I went full retard and forgot to tighten down the compressor cover vband clamp. Went to tear it apart to measure for an oring and as soon as I undid the hot side pipe, the compressor cover rotated and instantly knew what I forgot:D

I run a precision ml converter, seems to stall at about 2100 rpm.

Turbo setup still working great, gets beat on every time I drive it!

Fuel mileage hasn't seemed to changed much. Still averaging 13.5 mpg 50/50 city/freeway driving on winter diesel. Summer diesel (with the Danville) got me about 15 mpg even. Guess we will see what the 472 does on summer fuel. I love this setup! On my biggest tune it hits about 47 psi when the converter locks.
