Ok guys, I'm going to start a new list for this site, and I want to discuss rules before it gets going so we don't end up like the other list. Let's get it out there. I'll post what I think is stock, and I'd like to hear opinions from other guys.

Stock CP3 (from any year)
Stock turbo (from any year)
Stock injectors (from any year)
Stock motor (from any year)
Weight reduction allowed, but all exterior body panels and glass must remain intact.
Must have all factory safety equipment installed (including front bumper).
Must be registered, insured, and street legal, including tires (full slicks ok on 2wd trucks)

To be more specific on the CP3, nothing can be done to it. It must be completely stock in both form and function including the regulator. Swaps from different years are allowed, but nothing (including the regulator) can be modified. The fittings are the only thing that should be allowed to be changed.

To be more specific on the turbo, nothing can be done to it. It must be completely stock in both form and function. Swaps between models is ok, but no wheel swaps and no housing, wastegate, or vane modifications are allowed as applicable (wastegate actuators and wastegate line modifications are acceptable). Intake and exhaust plumbing to and from the turbo is fair game.

To be more specific on the injectors, nothing can be done to them. They must be completely stock in both form and function. Swaps between models is ok, but no enlarged tips. Obviously you can't do much swapping in the LB7 unless you are doing a LB7 to LLY conversion of some sort, but LMM/LBZ swaps would be allowed and I suppose LLY injectors could be installed in an LBZ or LMM as well.

To be more specific on the motor, nothing can be done to it. It must be completely stock in both form and function. If you want to put an LBZ motor in your LB7 so you can get better rods, that is fine, but you have to do it with LBZ pistons. No swapping parts between motors, and everything must be stock. Crank, pistons, rods, bolts (even head bolts), balancer, cam, heads, valves, valve springs, etc.

So what do you guys think?

All seems logical. Clarification on slicks - can you run them on 4wd. You mention full slicks ok on 2wd but nothing about 4wd.

Also, seeing as weight seems to be the big issue, would it make sense to have a minimum weight you must stay at or above - like no lower than 5500lbs? And still stay within your other mentioned body panel regulations.

I would also like to say thank you in advance for stepping up and moving on from the b**** fest. :thumb:

removing rear bumper, seats, interior panels, etc. is all fair game? And what about the fuel tank vs fuel cell that was mentioned on the other thread?

Sounds good except by body panels not being removed. Is the tail gate an acceptable removal? Manifolds and up pipes are they allowed to :roflmao:be upgraded? Or an lml manifold swap? That's all I can think of.

4wd trucks must have DOT approved tires. I think Charles has shown drag radials can be very effective with proper setup, but 2wd trucks will need a little more help.

All weight reduction you mentioned is fair game. Fuel cell is ok as well as batteries being moved.

I like the list expect for the minimum weight like this guy said what's a reg cab weight without tailgate spare?
The problem I have with a minimum weight, is it doesn't really do anything. You have crew cab trucks that will never get close to a limit and 2wd regular cabs that could go below without much work.

I think a modified regulator should be allowed. That is something the average joe can mod himself?

What about frame and suspension mods? Are 4 links allowed?

Yes, tailgate can be removed, and manifolds and up pipes can be upgraded.

Keep in mind guys, these are just my thoughts. This will be everyone's list, and we only get one chance to make it what we want. Once it is started, we can't change things. We need to make it what the majority wants. Also, I see this list as something to push the limits of what a stock engine in a factory application is capable of.

i think there should be a fastest stock truck list (just like the one you are trying to put together)

then their should be one for stock motors.

^^^ I see what you are saying, and thats a good point. It would be cool to see what some of the all out runs are on a stock rod/piston motor with big singles, sticks, etc.

but focus on this list first. this one is close, just needs a rule sheet defined to help cut some of the bickering out. :thumb:

stock style suspension - so torsion bars & leaf springs, no coilovers or 4 links, some leafs can be removed, traction bars & caltracs allowed, any shock that bolts in place of the stock shocks allowed

no hoodstacks or any other exhaust exiting forward of the cab

must keep factory glass, no lexan

DOT tires on 4X4, Im Ok with slicks on 2wd since their limited with traction with stock suspension

battery, forward of the firewall or atleast 1 forward of the firewall?

weight, I think the factory shipping weights of a RCLB 4X4 for 4wd trucks & 2X4 for the 2wd trucks should be the cutoff points, keeps it within reason of the EC & CC trucks. Somebody had posted the a site that showed the shipping weights a couple years ago. I would assume the LB7 trucks would be the lightest
the hood & rollpan can be the only non steel body parts

I think mirrors should kept on since these are street trucks

no frame cutting/ RCSB or 1/2 ton frames

blk smoke lb7

Awesome job Josh I agree with everything it's mostly about taking the stock motor (bolt ons approved) to the limits and still driving it on the street.

I love watching stock car racing back in the old days when it was a production car and you had to use the motor that American in it and modify it.So called stock car racing ing of today is a joke there is nothing stock about it.All the other sports like snowmobiles motorcycles boats still have stockists classes

The only thing that I see so far is that your "stock" is going to knock people off the current "stock" list I believe! Now that is funny right there! :D

My opinion is the CP3 and regulator should be stock unmodified. If the majority disagrees with me, we can do what the majority wants, but the way I see it, the CP3 is the limit of what fuel is available. I think the list should be about how much you can get from the stock fuel. I agree with AJ's thoughts on the suspension stuff.

I agree with everything except the battery and the weight thing.

No offense, but that is what the other list is about.

What about vans? 1/2 ton frames? Short beds?

Are you going to vote on the options?
Vans should be allowed. They are a factory application. Factory frame must be used unaltered. Once we get close, I will start a poll.

Street/strip drag radials are accepttable on 4x4? They are dot approved I should assume
Drag radials and "cheater slicks" are DOT approved and should be allowed on a 4x4.

You bring up a good point, the transmission must be the factory equipped transmission.

No injectables either straight fuel and air
I agree.
