I also run McRats thermostats and it runs 160 up to about 80* outside temp. Hottest it ever gets is on a full throttle run and it'll get to 190*. I never thought to watch oil temp but my oil pressure is always constant never dips.

I would certainly 1/2 fill the block, especially if you plan on running big power and not towing with it. Along with a girdle it will help keep the crank from walking around. We had one filled and one not for Max'd Out. Guess which one cracked and also took out the crank? Filled one still looks good.:thumb:

X2... Is there A thread some were on what type of cement to use and what consistency works best? I guess if I go out to the shop and look at the block it should be pretty self explanatory on what part to fill?

Most people use hard block..... There is other stuff out there but that stuff has worked for many years.

Fill it to the bottom of the freeze plugs for street truck ...... Follow instructions on the bottle.

Do this before machine work is done to block and let it setup atleast 24 hrs and the longer setup time is better

This is just what I've read and heard so take it for what it's worth.

Hope that helps
