Is this truck still going to be street driven? I was under the impression that forged pistons will not last on a street driven truck for long. Im most likely wrong. Also does anyone know the price for a girdle and if the regular studs will work with the kit?

Girdles range from 4-600 bucks and you would need longer main brearing studs to make up for the thickness of the girdles.

Quite a few people have run forged on the street with a dmax now and some cars come from factory with forged pistons ....... I know of a dodge running forged in his 900hp daily drive and he has 80k miles with no issues, other than having to drive a dodge:D

No but Abby does :D

I had sighn of crank walk on the last build with just main studs

This build I'm half filling the block running a girdle and going to try something different on the balance.

Internal balance? Also what is involved in the process of filling the block? I looked for a right up on here but did not see one. Socal or Randys girdle?

As far as filling the block there are a few opniOns... Different cement different fill procedures And different levels of fill.

I use a SoCal girdle but don't have any experience with any others.... So can't really comment.

Balance - never internal balanced and doubt I ever will, it's never worked wonders for anyone, why bother??

I will tell you from my experience that neither internal or external made a difference ....... Both fail!

I talked with a few big time engine builders this time and they all suggested something to try.

I also used a vibration table on the last crank, pistons and block... Don't think it helped either.

Not a lot of guys running it... So you won't hear much about it

Apparently maxed out runs it and is still a street legal / drivable truck

If you half fill the blOck you still cool sOme oil and the heads

Rob or Ken would know better:)

Thanks for the info simon, I am debating wether or not to 1/2 fill my block for the regular cab, but still want to be able to street drive it on occasion..
