Yes Caltracs are on. The wife is tagging along James. What and where do want filmed?

Have her get as close to the truck as she can and get me a rear side shot that shows the front end and rear end launching. I’ll pm you my number if it’s easier to send the vid that way.

Walk the track a little before each run and see if they are keeping it prepped. Only so much you can do to keep traction if they don’t keep the vht on it. You may actually be better outside the groove if they are not prepping it

10-4 Robs going to try and get a vid I don’t think they will let the wife that close.
Only 2 passes so far.
Best 60 so far is a 1.65, 12.05 @ 112. Tune 4

Misery loves company Nick:rofl: 12.03 @ 113 was the best on tune 5. MAF is all over the place:mad: it was perfect all the way to the track and the first 2 runs, then it went batshit crazy, was bouncing from 3 grams to 58 at idle:spit:

Last two runs it wouldn’t build boost and then it would pour the coal...

Rob took 2 videos of the last two runs (the worse 2) for me. Figures the SOB is camera shy. I’ll send them James once I get them from Rob.

Big thanks to Rob for the advice and coaching:hug: I’m extremely grateful and humbled he would take time to help out a nobody like me:D

I need to load tapatalk or send the videos I got to James. Main thing was having fun with friends and meeting new people, mission accomplished.

So the set up at the start of the day was 32.5 psi fronts (305 50r20 proxes) 29.5 psi rear tires.

Rancho 9000 shocks, fronts all the way stiff, rears 2 clicks out from hardest setting.
Caltracs same 1/4 turn Preloaded (roller loaded into the top of the spring)

tune 3, 1.689 60ft, 7.748 1/8th @ 87.77, 12.209 @ 110.87 2300ish rpm 2nd gear launch

tune 4, 1.655 60ft, 7.661 1/8th @ 89.08, 12.050 @ 112.65 2300ish rpm 2nd gear launch
Noticed Maf codes at the end of that run.

Cleared codes and noticed the MAF jumping around badly.

Rob commented the trucks rear isn't moving at all, very stiff looking. We decided to adjust the caltracs to see if It would improve the 60ft. Took preload out and gave the roller a 1/4" gap from hitting the spring truck sitting on ground. rear shocks out 2, still felt pretty stiff...

Tune 5, 1.743 60ft, 7.704 @ 90.35 1/8th, 12.033 @ 113.88, 2100rpm 2nd gear start.
MAF still angry, got excited and left to soon when the other guy took off:rofl: didn't have the R's correct... Pooop! R
ob videoed the launch and the rear still didn't move but I also didn't leave as hard so throw away pass...

One more time. MAF is really pissed now. Pulled in to staging and the truck just sat at 1700 and wouldn't build boost or RPM's, I was liked WTF? and then it just shot to 2000 something and I took off 4.786 reaction time:spit:.

Tune 5, 1.895 60ft, 7.9 @ 89.87 1/8th, 12.245 @ 113.50, Bizzare 2000 launch
Maf is all over the place after that run.

Cleaned MAF, still reading goofy, called it a day, trucks in one piece and I had fun and learned a bunch. Maf reading spot on on the way home, pretty sure I have some wiring issues to iron out.

To do list.
1. Fix MAF asap lol
2. Hook up recall switch for gauges. (I can't ever look at them going down the track)
3. New back pressure sensor, think the high pressure charger is backing up the exhaust on the big end hurting power.
4. Quite being a b*tch and launch at 2700+ Rob said he launched the old LBZ at 3000:D
5. Get the rear end to move and work a bit better, super rigid currently. (James and Rob:hug:)
6. Swap turbos put the 75mm on the blue truck and the 82mm on the white one.
7. Put MikeDiesels 100 overs in the white truck.
8. Skip 11's and get kicked off the track:rofl: JK F-ing 11's are brutal currently:D

I consider a 12.03 @ 113 to be a good starting point, not a bad day.
Thanks Tom. For sure, this is the 11th or 12th pass in a truck that has been a tow rig it's whole life with 407K on the clock its going to have some gremlins pop up. Im positive with this site and my stubbornness I'll win:thumb:
Whats the wheel tire setup?
20x9 Race lines with half worn 305 50r 20 Old style Proxes ST.

I was pleasantly surprised with a 1.68 and 1.65 out of the gate, MAF made sure that was short lived:rofl:

I know a guy that has some.... He should have came down and tested them out:D

I'll look into some this winter. I have 17 and 18" wheels just need to find a decent tire that won't break me. Blue truck needs new rubbers too FML it never ends...
