Have to play with it, we have found it it better to let the truck do what it wants to do, just slow it down. a little weight transfer will not hurt as long as you are not spinning badly and therefore losing traction. Also adjust left to right to better handle the torque twist.

What do you mean left to right? Keep the right side a little stiffer than the left?

The ranchos dont go very stiff maxed out, so try turning them all the way up. They have soft rebound valving

Ok will do. My caltracs seem to keep everything back there pretty stiff. And I still have the overload springs. So hopefully that will keep everything pretty tight.

Yes especially on compression. On the front of White Out the setting that work best for me is starting with the knobs turned totally counter clockwise or to their lowest setting.

LF..Compression 5, Rebound 18
RF..Compression 16, Rebound 18
LR..Compression 12, Rebound 18
RR..Compression 27, Rebound 5

Nothing majic about those numbers that just where they happened to be when we finally liked the way it launched.

Tried reading through, how did the shocks with only the rebound adjustment work out??? Seems like a budget solution for the front

TD501 is the double adjustable for the front.

TS501 is the single adjustable for the front. But I am slightly confused on this one. It states that you change both compression and rebound with one knob, so to get the rebound where we need it the compression will be super stiff right??

What is everyone using for rear shocks?

Like PAT has, the Rancho single adjustables are fine for the rear since they only adjust the compression. You need to be able to adjust rebound on the fronts to be effective

Can someone tell me what length shock I need for the front with cognito UCA's? I got a set of adjustable rancho's for free, but they weren't in good shape when I bought them and now they are completely junk. What's everyone running for a rear shock? I'm planning on putting 1-2 inch blocks in the back. I think I have a buddy that can hook me up with some penski racing shocks if I knew the length. I think I remember an 1.5 inches longer than stock. How's everyone liking the QA 1's by now?

Just so everyone knows the part numbers of tc15xxx and dtc15xxx are no good anymore.

TS501-single adj fronts
TD501- double adj fronts
TS901-single adj rears
TD901- double adj rears.

Still have to mod the bushings.

Finally getting around to working on the front suspension.

Just an FYI for everyone. If you have DJM drop lower control arms. The TD501s supplied hardware works perfect with them. Don't need to pull a sleeve out of the old shock :thumb:....

Granted I didn't realize that until I pulled one sleeve out of my old Rancho 9000.:(

Wish that was my case. I couldn't get the damn OEM sleeves to fit. So I just filled the ones that came with the qa1's

I had a set of 1500 shocks of an 05 of mine. The bushings out of the rear worked perfectly in the qa1 rears. The fronts worked too but I had to enlarge the groumet on the qa1's a little

Yeah I pulled a sleeve from one of my Ranchos.....Think I would screwed up the rubber bushing on the QA trying to put it in....then started looking at the hardware DJM sent me....fit perfect with the biggest bushing from QA.

I'd almost try a new Grade 8 bolt instead of trying to make the bushing fit.
