Today me and hipp11b installed Mahale 20 over pistons, lbz rods, and arp rod bolts. We would have got done more but 2 a$$ holes forgot to put the lifters in before they installed one of the heads and did 3 passes on the studs. Glad we found it b4 we got much further

Been there done that.. At least I didn't have the ~$45.00 main seal on yet..

I've bought and counted 36 head bolts(sealed packages of 3) twice at the dealer, once when staging parts... Go to Put heads on, on a Saturday afternoon.. I only got 35 bolts.. Stopped progress till Monday morning.. Go figure

As I didn't catch of you keyed the crankshaft..

Highly recommended either grab an ARP balancer bolt or new OEM one. The OEM are TTY (mine was 90ftlb+90° or something similar.. Data dumped that after I went ARP) the friction load it places on the balancer and reluctor/oil pump drive gear keeps it from spinning not the 5mm alignment dowl pins.. 1/2 of me says that was a contributing factor to me breaking a crankshaft back in August

Lol. That's F'n sh!tty. Better than finding it when you can't figure out why it won't start. I will be doing the empire key kit and I purchased a new tty bolt.

Hit it with some copper spray, slap it back together. Chances are none of the coating comes off when you remove it anyway.

That being said, just put a new gasket on if you have the time :thumb:

Today's progress

I DIDN'T EVEN GO IN THE GARAGE AND LOOK AT THE DAMN THING
I hope its just a mechanic thing I didn't have the drive or motivation to come home after wrenchin' at work to wrench at home. Hopefully today will be better
