For the complete package truck, nothing beats the LMM for racing. They have the cheapest thinest body panels ever put on a truck. The truck is by far the lightest configuration for configuration after you remove the DPF DOC and EGR. Not to mention it has the 6 speed trans, the bigger U joints etc etc and the list goes on. Oh and I own one.

;) Allison's seem to be holding up a lot more at big hp. The duraflite is the quick short term answer:D there will be Allison's in the 9's i know of 3 trucks that once finished will be trying to be first to do it

well i hope so,i am sure alot has changed in the time since we made the switch.allisons always held up to hp well. it was back to back trips at the dragstrip that seemed to be its down fall.even in light weight trucks like orange crush it would only hold for a few passes.i think allys wil make 9s in a truck that weighs over 4500lbs this year but how long will they last.as long as the duraflite being a short term answer that is opinion and all have one.if you work the ratios the duraflite is better suited to racing than the ally,at least for our program.good luck to all trying to make it work. that being said if money wasnt an option i would go with a proven tranny setup that works...

The Duraflite is def. nice 3 shifts as opposed to 4... Drakes truck shifts really nice but its also always broken :D

Ya sure are, but the raised outside part of the chevy hood looks pimp from the drivers seat/inside. I wish I had a dollar for every person that rode in my truck that asked, "Is that an aftermarket hood?".... My honest reply, "Nope, it's stock. :D"

Then the next question is during the ride, "Is this thing stock?" To which I would reply, "Yep, except for the DPF delete."

Of course today I check my MPGs running the stock tune. I decided I can't afford that, so now I am back to running a little tow tune. Whatever 2000ms gets ya and I added a little timing etc.:coolspot:

Have to agree with Jess on this one, That Duraflite is one sweet tranny for drag racing. But I think the main discussion is what engine to buy and the tranny that comes with it. I'm going to run Big Dipper's latest secretsauce Allison in my 06. It will have close to 1000 hp and weigh 6500 lbs so we'll see. I hope to hell it will live.:thumb:

LBZ FTW. LMM looks like a billboard on wheels, I would bet it has much more wind resistance than the classic body style.
