LBZ simply for the better electronics of the LB7/LLY versions. How many people do you see swapping ECMs the other direction?

LB7!!!!!!!!! LBZ's and LMM for street/mild builds. But LB7's for a full out race motor. I think I might use Trents quote in my sig??

"7's arent for every one , they are too fast for some to handle"

LB7s are more often used for all out builds because they are older and it's cheaper to buy the truck they come in - not because they are "better".

Even though we race a LB7 I'd probably do a LBZ for the external injectors and lack of FICM. The LB7's are the cheapest by far to start with and that is the main reason we chose the LB7. Buck has had his truck for a long time and is why he still runs a LB7. The better designed injectors and the billet injector bodies make it a better choice.

X 47 on the LBZ for the reasons above. She's a brute right from the get-go and the 6 speeds are better than 5. But if money was no object I think a Socal Stroker kit would be in order!! :)

Right from the get go? What's the point if your building a race truck?:)
You get better injectors but they cost more....you have no FICM but that hasnt slowed me down yet? You get a stronger block that is about it IMO maybe a lil better intake runners.

What's adavantage is a 6 speed in 1/4 mile racing? (Honestly i dont know)

Flame suit on:D

no post here since Thanksgiving. I agree with the LBZ over the LB7 for any application. I've had both built, and the injector cups on the LB7 are a royal pain as are the injectors to change. Plus the 6 speed is a better tranny.

;) Allison's seem to be holding up a lot more at big hp. The duraflite is the quick short term answer:D there will be Allison's in the 9's i know of 3 trucks that once finished will be trying to be first to do it
