Silber Turbo Kit, little test ride yesterday, pulls pretty strong, lol! I figured my truck has a turbo, my sled should too! We are going to Cooke City, Montana 2nd week of March...I can't wait!!!

Sweet, good choice! Race gas setup? What turbo is it running?

Cooke should be a blast. It's on my bucket list of ride destinations:thumb:

Wastegate is supposed to be 7-8 lbs as delivered, yesterday I was blowing the 15lb blowoff valve off, lol... My friend put one on a couple months ago, he was seeing 15 lbs here too. But out in Sreamboat, Colorado he was seeing 11-12 lbs...he ran 50/50 race gas, that is my plan too, just to be safe.

I like the new Axys chassis on the new Poo. Hoping the new HO motor holds together better than previous years. WAY too many guys in the mountains here blowing pistons due to Poo's poor design under 1000 miles. Fix kit seems to help. I will be watching next season as to how it lasts. On the fence right now between going back to Doo or trying the new Viper MTX with either an MPI or Boost It turbo.

I think a Cat laydown 800 in the Poo chassis would be the ticket with boost of course.

I'm still ass hurt with Arctic Cat... I would go with Skidoo or a Pro. I haven't spent any time around the Yamacat. Hopefully the fit and finish is better than my 12'...

Night and day between Yammy and Cat F&F. Yamaha is second to none when it comes to that and they weren't about to sacrifice rep on the Viper.

The Cat motor is a dinosaur compared to the new Poo and Doo motors albeit it does work well with boost. Boosted Poo's seem to really work well as do the Doo but some are running into issues bending rods in the Doo when they crank the boost up. There is aftermarket out there though to fix this though.

Yammafest is the end of March in Revelstoke and if I am off I intend to be there for it. Supposedly they will have one non turbo, one or two with Boost It kits, possibly one other manufacturers turbo kit and the rest will be turbo MPI.

Poo has their snow check release the 2nd of March so will see what comes of it if they are going to release a 162" or 174" as they only mentioned a 155" so far. They 174" T3 Doo really hit it out of the park. Too bad snow conditions suck so bad this year.

Lol, Dinosaur or not it's hands down the best 2-stroke engine for big boost with out splitting cases and swapping jugs. It's also the most proven and reliable of all of them...

I will have to look at the viper a little more closely when I go down and grab some parts these days off. Cat is still making most of the F-ing thing I don't see it being night and day...

Cat's contribution stops at the chassis for the most part. Plastic is still the same design, but it is way better quality. The 1059 Genesis and all the rest of the components along with it and the skid are much better than in the 1100T. Way better balance and power/torque delivery. That said, the price does reflect this also. Guys I know currently riding the 1100T and the Nytro that have demo'd or borrowed the Viper like it WAY more for various reasons. It doesn't feel heavy like might most 4S sleds do.

For guys that own and like the Cat all the power to them. I say ride what works for you and I'm not brand loyal at all. I find them to be like a Dodge though. Good powerplant but the rest of it falls apart around you.

I currently own a ditch pickle and personally don't like it. Maybe it's because I was raised on Doo and Poo and like how they ride more. I dunno. Part of it is their steering-I just can't get comfortable with it. Also I find that OEM parts are way more for Cat and non-performance aftermarket for most of them don't exist or also cost more for some reason in my experience. I might keep it as a back up but next season I will be riding something different.

Curious what years? Cooke gets 15 new 800 etecs and 15 new pros every year... They've had as many etec motors fail as pro R's since 13 on, and its very rare they said...

I think there all pieces Sh*t to be honest with you. Everyone of them is overpriced and falls apart or is so F-ing heavy they suck to ride... Hmm, I think winter sucks up here and is making me pissy:D

I find that hard to believe. I guess it depends on what they call a failure. E-tec is known to have injector and stator issues but piston failures are EXTREMELY rare around these parts. Only issues seem to be rods in boosted sleds. Lots of guys putting 3 - 5000 miles on without issue. Hell I know a mountain guide in Whistler that got 15 000km on his '13 XM before it cooked a bearing and threw a rod. And they warrantied it!!
Since the '07/'08 800r motor the Doo has been fairly reliable.

As far as the Pro's, my neighbor had a '12, then a '14. Both lost a piston in the first 200-400 miles. His '12 went 3 times in 700 miles then he snow checked the '14. Same issues. Traded it in on an XM and almost 3000 miles in two seasons and has changed plugs twice that's it. He did blow a secondary up though...... Another buddy has an IQ that blows up everytime he takes it out, a '12 that usually gets about 500 miles before it loses a piston and he is too stubborn to spend the money on an RK Tek kit so he keeps doing it over with stock parts, and a boosted '15 that so far has been good but only has 300 miles on it due to poor snow this year.

It seems the '14/'15 is a bit better, but still lots of guys are finding cracks around the 1000 mile mark in the skirts. And if you make 1500 miles your on borrowed time. RK Tech fix kit seems to take care of the problems though and some have gone as far as to just throw an RK Tech piston in when they are new. Poo around these parts seems to only warranty the first blow up and after that even if you are under warranty they like to call it abuse or lack of maintenance or anything they can to not foot the bill for a rebuild.

On the whole Cat does seem to have the most reliable 2 stroke motor consistently over the past 10 years.
