sweet!
I've been wanting to do this mod for a while...

The LB7/LLY seem to be pretty much bolt it, the LBZ and LMM have to trim the radiator hose some due to different angles in the radiator inlet. Then all your have to do is relocate or make a bracket to hold the TCM without the factory holder. I am very glad I don't have to mess with the crossover anymore now. I have relocated everything off of the engine but the fuel lines which will make a future injector jobs so easy.

Looks good, you can drill a small hole (don't mess the threads up) threw one of the unused bolt holes on the top of the housing them use a bolt with a copper washer to bleed the air out.
Finally got my van thermostat housing on. I was kinda worried I wasn't going to work with factory fan shroud and the duel CP3.
I have a fuel leak to fix, seems to be leaking around the high pressure fuel sensor, hopefully all I have to do it tighten it up.

Good to know, I will have to do this next time i have it apart. I ended up pooping the hose off to bleed most of the air out. Hopefully with this on I will not have to drain the coolant every month to do something to the engine.

I hear ya there I'm tired of working on it I'm ready to go for a ride, if you cut abt an inch off the radiator side it will pull the belt away from the cp3 and ac compressor.

Well hopefully I fixed my fuel leak. I didn't realize how hot the fuel rails and HP lines get. Next up on the underhood clean up list is a new 4 inch intake, this ATS intake is a piece of garbage, it needs some reworking so it will stay hooked to the turbo. So I am going to make one, I already have a new filter on order to replace the old AFE unit that has seen better days. This first picture is the brackets I bent to hold the TCM. It has 2 bolts into the TCM and seems to be pretty sturdy.

Finally got around to building my traction bars. Wishing I had done it sooner, huge difference with my clutch taking off.

Sorry for the crappy installed pic. Bars ended up being 68" from hole to hole, 1.5" .250 wall chromoly. 3/4 chromoly heim with 5/8 hole. Spring eye bushings in the frame end.

Live been following your thread. I'm in love with that thing. It should be a beast.

I got the heims and weld bungs from speedway motors. Makes a lot cleaner install than my of way of just welding a nut to the bar.

Yes I have ones from Dustin on it. We made mine really and blended my front mounts into the frame, looks like it came that way from the factory. Dustin makes them a new way now they look really good.

Thank you, I never intended it to be what it is. I'm anxious to see how it drives. I keep seeing diesels popping up in my area. The Hyundai gets stage fright, I can't wait till someone pulls up and tries to mess with the truck.......

Navistar to build GM trucks as part of deal to add 300 jobs

Navistar has reached a joint agreement with General Motors Co. to assemble medium-duty GM trucks in Springfield, the manufacturers announced today.

Both companies will collaborate to develop the trucks jointly, using Navistar’s expertise in chassis configurations and manufacturing capabilities, and GM’s commercial components and engines. The deal will result in 300 new jobs and a $12 million investment in Navistar’s Springfield facility.

The agreement will allow Navistar to strengthen its product lineup and GM to expand its Chevrolet commercial truck portfolio, according to information from Navistar.

“By working with an industry-leading company like GM, we’ll be able to enhance our medium-duty product and leverage our scale and expertise in manufacturing medium-duty trucks,” said Bill Kozek, president of truck and parts for Navistar in a news release.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2018, and most of Navistar’s $12 million investment will go toward upgrades at the Springfield plant and new equipment to produce the new vehicles.

Earlier this week, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 60 percent, six-year income tax credit for Navistar. The new jobs will mean $10.3 million in additional payroll and allow the Springfield plant to retain more than $38 million in existing payroll, according to information from the state.

The new agreement is a dramatic turnaround from just five years ago when the Springfield plant had only a few hundred workers. Earlier this week, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 60 percent, six-year income tax credit for Navistar.

The site now employs between 1,400 and 1,500 workers, including management and contractors, and thousands of company retirees still live in the region.

By the numbers:

300 — New jobs to be added in Springfield

$12 million — Navistar’s investment in Springfield

2018 — Expected start of production

$10.3 million — Payroll expected to be added locally
