177 ft lb nut backed off!!?? I guess something went wrong somewhere, glad you got it fixed pretty quick though


Yeah, no idea how. Maybe vibrations over 40k miles and lack of loctite. No idea if I actually properly torqued it way back when either. Snapped the hub right off the bearing like I've seen others do

Be sure the grease seal is still in place and not deformed.


Everything was in good order when I put her back together. Replacing wheel hubs isn't anything new to me, I replace them on other trucks all the time, just never had one snap on me personally. The one that I bought is a pos China one. I'll be buying a timken and throwing this one in the tool box as a road side spare

Installed Kryptonite tie rods and PISK... Now to drop from 355/60R20's too 325/60R20's so I can lower it down and get my shaft angles corrected.
I did a couple light launches with just the tie rod swap and was surprised at what a difference they made. I will do a couple more with both the tie rods and PISK but serious testing and racing will have to wait till I can afford the new tires...
