Not good! Where you broke down now? You think it's a tuning issue that caused the last 2 trucks you had to crack pistons? Because I know guys with 300,000+ mile lbzs who have never had the valve covers off. They don't tow near as heavy though....Got the split piston shake and blow by.. So much for cheap smoking gun

Lbz/lmm pistons.. And oil temps.. First had no aux oil cooler lasted 45,000 miles at ~300fwhp.. Then got finger pistons... Then sold
2nd had oil cooler from the start at 97k engine died with 222,000 miles all at ~400rwhp. Lasted 3x longer without cooler and 2x the power if you add 20% for powertrain loss
Wahsed and waxed the ol girl, detailed the interior, changed the trans spin on, new AD2 filters and an oil change...it was a very much needed long day:thumb:
Got her home last night. And the load delivered last night... Nap then commence full blown tear down... Find out which piston died. It was #4 on my 99C3500HD with a lbz

Looks like a good little project. I'm wanting to build a big one with 2.5 or 5 ton axles and 60ish" v-treads. Going to use a late model truck and retain the original drive train with creature comforts (a/c, radio, comfy seats)I'll sell you one...

Bigger tires than I'd use but I actually helped build the subframe on this one. Spent 10hrs and a full bottle of gas on the welder.

Those tires are 74" tall if I remember right. It is a bit of a chore to get in, which is why I want good a/c and reliability. Get in it and stay there. There is a ccsb Duramax on even bigger tires that has hydraulic step bars. people step up about a foot onto the running boards, push a button and up they go to the bottom of the door.
