Probably has to do with the 17" wheel vs the 20" I would think

well think about it like this. a 35x12.50R20 tire has FAR less rubber, steel, and other materials than a 37x13.50R17 tire and by no means does the mold cost that much nor is that size relatively new.

supply and demand, they clearly can get the higher price lol

i gotta stick with my 17s :D. big ol' wheels would just throw the look waaaaay off. or maybe it will start another fad :roflmao::roflmao:

mine have turned old school. lots of people still like them out west but you cant get this wheel any more. they have a new design but they are cheaply made and lighter. you also cant get the wide ring anymore. 13 year old wheels still holding up great! rings need some new powdercoat though.

yup, Walker Evans Racing wheels. they were BIG in desert racing back then, and still kinda have a hold in racing today. Walker got into rock racing too which is where the wide ring comes from. Damn near all the TT trucks had either robbie gordon wheels or walker evans or Centerlines. KMC started coming out in the mid/late 2000's and Methods werent even a thing. you had a few options back then. a 17" wheel with polish finish or raw, wide ring or normal bead ring in polished/anodized black/red/or gold, and street lock or bead lock.

on my 1500 i turned into a prerunner, i bought a set of the 17s polished like i have on my truck now but as a true bead lock and the normal rings on it. loved being able to run 5psi in the sand and not worry about a tire popping a bead but to have the tires worked on by discount was a royal bitch and i worked there! they are considered 2 piece wheels and its a liability to them. so if i needed a new tire or put a plug in one, i had to take the ring off at home, bring the wheel and tire in, dismount it, plug it, put it back on the rim, bring back home, put the ring on and air up, then bring back and balance it.

F**k i sound old and im not even that old!
