are you guys running stock clutches in your tts kits? What does the p2 planetary spacer do? have you added any other mods to help the kit hold, copilot, waveplates, pressure mods ect?

Not sure how this thread turned into a trans thread, but anyway, I run stock clutches in the C2 and C5. I run Altos in the C1, C3, and C4. P2 planetary spacer moves the P2 planet back up where it is supposed to be after the C3 apply plate is modified. I run a CoPilot only because without it my converter will not lock until I get well over 60. I have an ATS pump spring instead of the shim.

My clutches did not delaminate. They did not use glue the friction material on correctly; they had large amounts of bubbles in the glue. Friction area was reduced about 1/3 rd from the bubbles.

If you would like to cut me a check for my damages, I will accept it. Otherwise, go pound sand. Playing with ATS trans stuff cost me several thousands of dollars. Product testing isn't always glamorous.

Ats admitted to having problems with bubbles in the glue and fixed the clutches. Does a bad batch make them a bad company?

I should pound sand huh? Well thanks pal:rofl:

If you review post #60 you will see where this became a bash, I mean trans thread.

I hit a number of the forums, if I have a tech question I don't have the answer for which are many, I've been around long enough and have deveoped enough contacts I can usually go to the person I want to talk to direct.

Getting back to the subject of this thread, I can't se why Ben was banned. the guy who should have been banned is Toyhauler for the following post.

Most dont know but if you dont leave your truck in tow haul mode when towing, your truck can not restart when you shut it off. The reason for this is the tow/haul button tells the generator control module to raise the commanded demand on the charging system to compensate for charging the batterys on the trailer and the extra lights being used. Long story short use the tow haul button all the time when towing.

I thought at first it was a joke. There are a lot of people on that forum who don't post or look anywhere elsed, and are easily mis-informed. They are not a bad bunch of guys, just a bit misinformed.

I posted against that and tried to explain how it was and yes I had a tiny bit of it mixed up, but my general idea was correct, then Ben posted the correct info and said it better for even me. But the guy who said that can't be argued with cause he is 100% correct and if you push it you get the ban.......

I also called that guy out and basically said what you just did. But it didnt seem to do anything, he started posting all kinds of bulletins that wern't even for DMAX, and then Ben told him 1,000 more times, and that guy still didnt get it.....

Many folk know what happened when I started using ATS parts, so I won't go into it again.

But who gives a flying fk about warranty on race parts? If I can't make a race, or don't finish because of busted ass shiit, exactly how will another set of the same parts help?

Warrantees suck donkey nuts. I want shiit that don't bust to begin with. ATS cannot deliver.

I agree with the warranty thing. Downtime costs money no matter if the parts are warrantied or not. I would rather pay more for something that has been proven to work better and get no warranty than get warranty for something that is always breaking down.

Maybe ATS has picked up their socks and addressed the issues Pat speaks of, but I can see where it would leave a bad taste in the mouth's of people who had repeated problems in the past.

I run a purple converter, but I don't like it because it rattles. ATS won't do anything about it because it still works fine so I am stuck with it-for the most part because of where I live and the cost of shipping. Does that make them a bad company, not at all. But I won't get another one.

Ok back on topic-whatever the topic was.:D

Big Block 88- we did have fun! I dont take this thread crap serious atoll. Duramaxdiesels is def the most informative of all. I try not to offend anyone but i know i come across that way. So be it. Duramaxforum is full of newbies an sometimes its fun over there. Its fun listening to stories and getting people going. I didnt try to say anything funky, i was having fun. That thread was hardly serious. ATS backs me and i back them, its just the way it works. They take care of me and have warrentied my trans 100% everytime. I think they have the best warrenty and the best tech info. The posts from MikeM in the "What about ATS revised" prove it.

I try to be as honest as possible on tech threads and try to have a good time. I Sold a trans to Iowally recently and got it strapped to a pallet like he asked, he said he was in no hurry so i took my time. After i loaded the trans i saw that the trans had a cracked bell housing and called Iowally imediatly! I told him i could give some money back or give a refund........i gave a refund.
I could have been crooked and sent the trans but i would never do that.

MMLMM- thanks, your a good friend too. You know me.

MikeL- I believe i have told lots of people on Duramaxforum and other forums you build a good trans. Dont like me, i could care less. I see the way you talk to people on here and its uncalled for. Very unprofessional. You started the "what about ATS revisited" on duramaxforum and have posted ZERO tech info. You called myself, Bryan and ATS out. I came back and waited for you since you said " if you want to continue this, you wont like it" BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA ATS stepped up and was there with lots of tech info. Others want to hear from you too. Where you at????

Maybe I'm not crazy after all....

I'm by no means busting your ball here, but don't a lot of triples rattle? My PI always has and I seem to remember reading about SC triples doing it too...I thought it was common. At least it isn't as loud as those south bend triples for the ZF6...they're pretty nasty...

Actualy, my truck is not even up here. I pulled a truck up to ATS for a trans install, the truck i pulled it up with is a 06 cummins and it need to be looked at too. ATS had the trans in the truck in one day and replaced the U-joints since they found the joints were bad. They found the problem with the Cummins too. If you must know, dropped my motor off for a full build, im looking at rods, pistons, heads, cam, dual cp3's and large sticks. As soon as it gets done i will come out to Cali so we can play.:D

ATS has addressed the issues they have had with the delam in the past. That is old news that people keep bringing up. I dont see anybody from ATS bashing anyone on any of the forums?? MikeL called them out and NEVER responded in HIS thread. Lots of people were looking for tech info from both Inglewood and ATS. Who delivered?

The only time i had a ATS trans "break" is when i boosted it up to much and when it started to pull through the brakes i applied more break pressure and the output shaft broke. Other than that, i came up one time for a heat issue that let to a easy fix with the valve body and i came up when my radiator broke and trans fluid went into my trans and wiped it out. ATS could have not warrentied it but they did. And yes, warrenty does mean alot to the "regular" guy.
