That's a good pick thanks. I'm guessing it's stretching the rules as it says "oem frame" in the rules. They must have asked the PPL though you'd think.
Since 2011 there has been no rule in ppl about OEM frame. But if there was a rule i would be legal anyway. All we did was cut the back 18 inches of that does nothing. The pipe we put in is there only for the bump stops. The frame is still 100% stock OEM frame, and for the record if it does stretch the rules theres alot good truck that will be in the same boat.
PPL states nothing about OEM Chassis or Frame since 2010 nor do I see anything in NTPA.

Also if that was the case how does Beetz pass? Last I scene a k2500 chassis the frame rails did not look like that. IIRCC rule use to state stock un altered chassis then people started making 10 foot boxes etc.

not picking on wes but here's what i had for rule changes. i do agree the rules could use some clarity. i dont see any advantage weight wise doing what wes did to the back of the truck, i would bet the tubing added weighs close to what the stock frame piece did.

2.6 Diesel Trucks
Drivers Suits follow Rule #1 under General Rules.
All vehicles will have an air shut-off assembly. (Raincap or guillotine)
3.0 Diesel Trucks
Rule #1 Change: Maximum weight 7800#. Minimum weight of 7200#.
Rule #2 Trucks must remain stock appearing. Must have full size steel or OEM type body.
Add to #3B – No aftermarket blocks permitted.
Add #17B OEM Chassis only, no tube chassis allowed

Yeah, its oem chassis minus the last 10% of it...you added tube in place of an oem part of it. Personally I don't really care, its just another lose written rule interpreted by everyone differently I guess
The PPL Rule book we got sent last season and also what is posted on there site says nothing about OEM Chassis.

we try and make our rules as close to PPL as possible, however, we thought it would be a bad idea to base our rules entirely on PPL rules for that year. I dont think anyone in our club wanted to be stuck with rules that we didnt vote on.
but i think the bottom line is, no one is going to turn wes away for having a borderline oem frame (imho) bc badger has a hard enough time just getting a good truck count.

Everyone has there own opinion, and im not here to knock them or change minds. But my frame is not border line OEM from axle to axle it is completly a stock frame 100%. All we did was make are bump stops out of round pipe, so basically if i had used square tubing and came strsight out for my bump stop this would have never got brought up? Last point there are more out there that have the same thing done, so alot good trucks would be in trouble. But i see your point theres alot rules that could be viewed in a million different ways!

NO were does that say complete oem chassis, and no were does it say you cant use round tubing for bump stops, i guess that would be my answer to them. BUt anyway you making any changes for next season?

just gonna try and put more weight out front and a few more ponies under the hood
