Finally some progress. Alternator mounted where AC used to reside and adjustable idler pulley added. Turbo gets mounted today or tomorrow - front mount tucked up on passenger side of motor, then A2W and we are ready to fire.:woott:

This may be a stupid question but why keep the Alt? I've not paid attention to others too see if they're running one but is it necessary on a dedicated dmax puller? We're not running one on the 24V,, hell we've not even got a belt on the front :D

All factory belt driven accessories, excluding the air conditioning compressor, must be retained and powered via the crankshaft by a standard serpentine or “V” belt. Electric cooling fans are permitted.

Straight from COTPC.

Plus I'm not willing to risk not having the proper battery power to run my truck, 2 water pumps, air dog, fans, etc

Looking good to both Jim's!!! Jim H, you have some long nights ahead of you...

We got it up and running and to a test and tune today... A Outlaw Tractor Pullers V12 Allison Mod attempted to hook before us, the sled operator changed the gear but the sled was heavy!!! Went a whopping 260ish feet.

Sounds good, i think he needs to re gear or something tho. Rpms sound way up, but tires speed doesnt look that great.

Yeah, it appears that way... I'm not 100% sure which gears we had in it, but it was a 1000 or 1100 gear.... We hit 4300-4400rpm through the middle of the track, which is 34 or 35 mph depending on which of those gears was in it... Better than we had last year!

Nice Matt. Man that thing come out of the hole smooth and easy. And yea it sounds like a B.B. Gasser. Can't wait to see her at some pulls this summer.

Mikey just walked Paul through how to set his up friday night after he had it inspected for NTPA...

I think a lot of the sound is the Banks Big Hoss intakes, I love the sound of it.
