I guess Aaron just got off the phone with George from SC a little while ago and they also replaced the 6-speed valve body and are sending new filters and filterlock with the unit. there was no mention of anything being wrong with the VB though :secret: but it did throw B-trim valve codes the last three times we drove it to diagnose and we told him that. they tested it after putting it all back together and said it worked fine. he didn't believe us telling him it happened just driving down the road on tune 3 going to pass someone though, but hey that's the TRUTH!! we'll find out if the buttons not working is an electrical issue next week when we receive the tranny. THANKS SUNCOAST!! and MATT V., and MIKE L., YOU ARE THE BEST!!

so last week i was cruising down the road on Tony's tune 2 with the 6 speed tcm in and went to pass someone and limped the tranny Suncoast stage 5 with 1058 converter.....only in for 7 months....and it came up with these codes
P0734 EPA/EPA Pending/MP
P0700 EPA/EPA Pending/MP

so i cleared them and it was fine for a few miles then whenever it would shift into 3rd 0r 4th it would limp.....so i have been driving it around occasionally to try and diagnose the problem and constantly stopping to clear the codes...put the 5 speed tcm in today and it was a bit better but still does the same thing.....mind you all of this happens between 10%-90% throttle....I bought a new ignition switch to try and get my Shift range inhibited message to stop once in a while when i put it in 4lo....so we'll see if that makes any difference...but i think it may be the converter is shot....it has never been drag raced and has only 12 or so hooks on it with less than 500 rwhp....there are no noises/vibrations out of ordinary until it slams once in a while trying 4th gear then limps....the TH and OD off buttons light up but dont do anything, they dont work.

the converter doesnt lock whatsoever in any gear unless i use DVT to manually lock the TCC i was doing 90+ mph and it was only turning 2k rpms. sometimes when it shifts just before it limps it hangs up extra long and winds up to 4k rpms then limps.

I have logged it twice and can send any willing helpful mind the files to help me diagnose this freak problem.....Thanks..

maybe cause you said tune 2 at first?

I got arrested for PI once cause i said i had a couple beers.

I later admitted it was 10 beers, 5 shots, and a 10 sec keg stand... like they didn't already know ;) It was dismissed anyway.

hahha it's really irrelevant anyways since there is virtually no difference between 2 and 3 except on the low end....2 is a 75 hp i think and 3 is like a 125 i think...

so the tranny is in and shifts well....but i think maybe some fine tuning may be in order with Tony's help.....but that will have to be after we fix the motor.:mad:
haven't done a compression test yet but i am now leaning toward's a valve problem or valve seat problem.....it explains the horrible noise until warm and the blue smoke until warm....

well i have an interesting update to my transimission thread:
the shifts were hanging and flaring recently so we put new fuel filter on (only 8k miles on last one and it was nasty) and it had been maybe 2k miles since installing the new Stage V so we also did the spin on ally filter. when he took the ally filter off he said it smelled burnt (torque-Drive fluid) so we called Matt Visci back and asked him what he wanted us to do and he wants me to drop the pan and see if there is any debris. my question to George or Mike L. is: if the new c2 clutches were just getting broken in, could it also make the fluid smell burnt? there was no material in the filter and the fluid didn't look bad i guess, but they said it smelled burnt. i am getting fed up with this thing either way :(

Are you sure the fluid is burnt? A lot of the new fluids smell burnt but are not. Was the converter replaced or was the same one used over?

well i am not positive on the fluid because to me, it smells like it does right out of the jug. i can't see how it could be burnt, the flares aren't terrible, not more than 100-200 rpms. we haven't even run it higher than tune 3 since installing the new tranny. all they told us was that they replaced C2's and put a new 6-speed conv. valvebody in it. so they are the ones who really know....they haven't been too willing to talk to us. :(

i dont think that there's anything out of the ordinary myself, that's why i posted, i don't wanna see another $200 in fluid thrown out the door, it's getting rediculous

I might be free this weekend, if I am make a trip down and we can put the TECH II on it and EFI to see what is going on.

if they used the same converter it is a given that there will be some of the old burnt fluid that mixes with the new fluid. as well as from the cooler.

sounds good Tony, I'll be at drill but Aaron should be around and willing to make the trip. i think the electrical issue is mute now, haven't had it be an issue recently. :hello:

it is "fixed" as long as i don't try to use 6 gears:rolleyes:

they replaced the VB and c3's. everything else is ok i hope. they wouldn't give any details further than that to Matt or I.
