he ultimately wants me to send him the tranny..however the warranty doesn't cover the shipping which is a grand both ways to my buddies shop the warranty also doesn't cover fluid and filters, or GM products in the tranny, it does cover $50 per hr of labor though at an authorized dealer, but it doesnt specify if diagnostic time is included..i also don't think just dropping it and looking at it is a solution, as you said mike, something caused this and i think its something electrical...but i am very ready to doubt it's a TCM issue...that's why i have been on here asking individual questions trying to figure out what leads to what...i have looked at all the GM diagnostics sheets and gone through them....i have several EFI logs of the incident happening......i am almost stumped with little left to try, and now that it is leaking fliud i am VERY reluctant to try what i haven't tried yet which is the different NSBU (old one that i replaced thinking it was the cause of another problem), and getting the wheel speed sensor codes totally out of the way

Are you sure the leak is not fluid coming out of the overflow? If it is, that could indicate something loose in the valve body.

Would an overheating tranny cause oil to come out the overflow/vent Mike? Like a valve bypassing/leaking past and causing heat?

Yes it can but I don't think he's running hot. If there is something loose in the valve body pressure wiil escape causing some kind of malfunction plus the the escaping fluid can come out the overflow. Just an off the wall idea as I have seen this in other transmissions but not yet in the Alli.

it does appear to be coming out of the overflow on top...i stuck my hand up there and there is an abundance of grime, more-so than anywhere else on the tranny....hmmm, so since it's a SC 6 speed conversion valve body, should i still just try and do the work myself or find someone that suncoast will work with?

I would pull the pan and see if anything it out of place. Drain fluid in a clean container so it can be reused. Have a camera ready. post pictures if you unsure of anything so I can see. Call me if you need.

no chris, aaron still hasnt made up his mind on what he wants to do....the way i look at it is if we just put it on a lift and drop the pan and there is an easy fix, it'll be fixed, no big ordeal and if not then we just throw the pan back on and send it to Champion......or we have it towed to Champion in CT where it could be just a quick fix for all that trouble...and have to pay the difference of his labor rate and the $50 per hour that the warranty covers

Whenever I do a Suncoast repair I work with the 50.00 per hour that they pay. Ron always makes it up to you in the end.

well here's an update: we put in a new APPS just for sh*ts and giggles yesturday and took it a mile down the road and finally got a 0776 code (b-trim valve) to appear once without limping it....then proceeded to try to get the 0734 code again and succeeded...so we are leaving at 9:30 tomorrow morning for Matt Visci's shop in Connecticut...luckitly my buddy's towing company has a new duramax flatbed to do the honors of towing us down there!!

update:

truck is down at Matt's shop and they dropped the pan today and said everything was pretty burnt up and some debris in the pan....don't have pictures but i trust him....but i don't think he is the one I have to worry about now:(

SC is trying to make up their mind on whether or not they want the tranny shipped to them and just send up a replacement....however if they choose to send a replacement i hope they spend the time to figure out what happened and do some preventative thinking so this BS doesn't happen again. billet P2 and carbon fiber clutches sound pretty sturdy

on edit:

SC wants the tranny and it will be sent out tomorrow or wednesday...they are covering shipping apparantly so thats good with me :)

Update:

C2's were burnt and SC already shipped the tranny back to Matt today...I'm sure that's not all that was wrong but that's all the info I got from Aaron just now.
