Hey, I got a 04.5 rclb I'm not new to pulling, have 20 plus hooks on my dodge but was just wondering if I could go over my setup on my duramax and see if I got it right in your opinions!

The front end is dropped and I have tie rods sleeved, with a super diesel straight centerlink,

Going to fill my 100 gallon transfer fuel tank and throw another 8 suitcase weights on all for weight

I'm runnin 285 75 16 bfg at's on 16x10 eagle alloys

Receiver is slid in 13" and braced up, and bumper came off and sled stops went in place, got a 26" hitch that is barely coming past bed

No traction bars yet :-/

Rear u joint scattershield

And blocks with 1-1/2" travel. (blocks are illegal in this class)

Now my big question is about spring clamps? I had a big leaf pack on my dodge and didn't worry... I have read clamp just the back and have read clamp both... The pull is in 2 days and I'm starting to get nervous!

Oh and since I'm new to the automatic I'm guessing 4 low, 3rd on gear selector, o/d off , and tow haul on?

I'll post a video after the pull!

It's a 2.4 workstock class by the way

Sounds like a good setup! I clamp the front and rear of my leaves. Works good. U r right on the 4lo, 3rd, t/h. Sounds like u got some weight to add and it should help alot. Throw the suitcase weights in the floorboard If u can. Good luck man! She should pull good. Hope the track is in good shape for ya.

The only reason I'm nervous is there was a guy with a truck identical to mine and when he pulled he would hop and bounce so bad it would pull the front end off the ground ! But he had 2" lift keys on the front, and he clamped springs and I was worried that clamping springs would make it hop?

Lol that sounds like me last year! Leveling keys and pulling don't mix well. U should b fine. I think the IFS actually helps us DMAX guys not hop if it's setup right. I just pulled on a mud packed sticky track a couple weeks ago and everybody was hoping. Except the 2 dmax's. If u put your clamp just inside of the rubber snubber thing on your overload spring u should b good to go. I think spring clamps work fine for us stock turbo guys.

Yes sir, when u clamp all the springs together it will actually lower the back of the truck about an 1". But it keeps axel wrap to a minimum.

Good thing I made hitch 1" and a half to tall :-D

Wet track I'm gunna want to hold brake and boost then hammer down and a good track just roll on throttle right?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but around here it's all dodges and of course they aren't gunna help a chevy haha

U won't miss the dodge once u get the hang of the dmax. Least around here I'd say its 8 to1 dodge favor and almost all classes are won by a dmax. Good luck. She will do work.

Got 2nd place tonight with my 305ft pull was 10 ft behind another duramax! I can live with that, then the ol lady pulled the 2.6 class with same setup and got 11th out of 13. I'm definitely hooked with a duramax it was so smooooth! I eased out the gate let it hit second then hammered down!
