lol the clutches are the cheap part compared to the labor and the dammmm fluid hahah, im soooooooooo sick of buying trans fluid.

Yes trans fluid is insane! Im getting ready to change mine and was going to run Transynd but want to talk to Mike and see what he recommends me running since he built the trans. What do you run for trans fluid Dmitri?

you may laugh at me but i have been running the cheap ass wal- mart oil lol, i have not been willing to step up and spend the big money until we get some better clutches, my fluid finally looked just as good as when i put it in, and i had six 9 second passes on that tranny plus a bunch of t and t, i just stepped up and bought dex 6 full synthetic this time around tho, im felling really good about the new trans after i pulled it appart from texas? i have heard transynd is really good to tho! if that helps :D
X2, I couldn't agree more with you!
haha im glad someone feels my pain :D:Dmy last fluid finally looked really good, maybe theres a future for the allison after all, walmart hates me lol

Thats good to know, BUT have you ever thought you might get more than 26 passes if you used quality oils? Or do you think since it doesn't even last long enough to wear the oil out it doesn't real yeven matter?

Transynd is already in there. ;)

:roflmao: How did i know!!! I figured it was considering i know you would NEVER put cheap oil in it LOL. Thanks for letting me know though because i hate mixing fluids!

Speaking from my experience, TRANSYND does not give a firm positive shift feel compared to a DEXRON 3 type fluid. I put TRANSYND in mine when I built it and swapped out to DEX/MERC fluid later on and it shifts ALOT better now with the CASTROL DEX/MERC fluid. As for going through alot of fluid, have you considered using a centrifuge to filter out your old ATF and re-using it? If it isn't burnt I would think 2 or 3 runs through a centrifige would clean the fluid up and get most of the old clutch material out.

I was thinking this aswell, sounds like a good idea anyways.

I have ran the fluids from Sam's Club for years now and haven't had one single issue. Suncoast tells me anytime they see the insides of it how well it looks.

Mike where can this be had locally? Or does one need to order it online from a company? I thought i had read along time ago that you liked Citgo fluid but have NEVER seen it for sale anywhere?

Almost every truck company on the west cost has switched to it from TranSynd. My oil distributor carries it in stock as they supply all the truckers on the LA docks.

If you go to CITGO's website you can do a dealer search for a fluids dealer. It is a great fluid from what I can find. It is fully TES-295(TRANSYND), TES-389(DEX3 older ALLISON), DEX3, and MERCON rated. Shows to have a lower fluid flow point than TRANSYND, and Mike says it stands up much better to heat. Plus I found it at a CITGO dealer for $21-24 a gallon VS the $32 a gallon for TRANSYND or $20 a gallon for the generic CASTROL DEX/MERC fluid. I still need to finish up the last of my CASTROL DEX/MERC and go pick up some QUATRASYN to keep in stock for my shop.
