This is hilarious:roflmao: +1 for David, +1 for Mike L. +1,000,000,000 for everyones stupidity for fighting over some stupid shit that you can not even buy yet and has no price. All i almost forgot these might also end up like the "New" Lb7 injectors that never fail too. Because if they do not pass the testing they will never even be realeased to the public. So then this thread will be better because you are fighting over something that will never even be available. I say Mike and David are both great guys and you cheerleaders need to quit arguing over who's d*ck you want to suck:thumb:

I had to discard my last post.

Brian, I'm not going to get into this BS with you over who is better who loves who more or whatever you like calling it. Go pester someone else cause your input means nothing to me.
It's obvious who your in love with, I've found my red X, and I think youve found yours too :D

I am speaking from a factual basis about someone who acted professional versus someone that didnt. If you build transmissions for a living you should be able to answer simple questions. This was not the case.
Sorry you feel that way, hundreds of people are happy :thumb:

David has been a stand up guy from the beginning and I will continue to back him up. If that upsets you I'm sorry. He is a supporting vendor on this forum keep that in mind. David's a big boy, he doesnt need billy badass on the other side of the country to talk for him

Would it have been easier to go through Mike? Yes. Instead you went through a cheap trans builder in AZ, after all, since it's all about money...

Was it worth the time and shipping cost to go through David? All day, everyday! How much can a pallet box really be...

See the red X :baby:

I just talked to Mike about the trans in my truck and a backup trans. The subject of "new" Raybestos clutches came up. Raybestos carries a strong reputation for quality product, BUT as I recall, they had an entry into the Allison market a few years back. Possibly in the Joe Webb days? Here and gone with no fruition. Correct me if I am wrong here.

I'm sticking with Alto until some real testing takes place.

Some of you might be familiar with the old GM 6.5 and the Stanadyne PMD issues. The boxes are the achilles heel of the electronic 6.5. When the aftermarket units were released they were touted as being the best. They tested to Stanadyne's specs with 6 Stanadyne and 6 aftermarket units and in the end all passed. What did this prove? The Stanadyne units were problematic and teh test did not fail any of them either.

Anybody remember the delaminating clutches for the Allison several years back?

This is not a venture to take lightly...

Wow! Of all the years being on the DP and here I think tranny threads get the most heated. I must admit though, I'm curious how these new clutches will work out.

We have been testing these clutches in some pretty powerful trucks for the past 2 months and have had very good luck so far. We have been daily driving, towing, racing, and sled pulling. Oh yeah we also made 1168 HP and 1660 tq last weekend using a totally Raybestos Allison . This means a savings in the near future for those looking to build an Allison. Just thought some of you might want to know of other options coming down the pipe line that so far has out performed the altos in our testing. We will keep you informed as we push these clutches even harder at the next event.

dave, no offense but a stage 3 will hold 1168 on the dyno, i agree with mike your statement is to early, i as well have those clutches in testing, but i wanna see 50 plus passes out of them before i say a word!! you have them in mats trucks correct ?? how many passes has he made, last i heard was 4, has he ran a bunch since then?? Which altos do you have in testing, they have a few now? do you have them all do make a accurate comparrison??? do you have 3 TRACK trucks running or you making claims off the dyno??? many questions buddy :thumb:

How can you make this statement without pulling the trans and sending the clutches back to Raybestos for exam? I have these clutches in trucks right now and would not make a statement untill after race season and thorough exam by Raybestos. Did you notice the orange stripes on the friction facing? Do you know what that means? Look into it if you don't. What were the adapt values as you compared these clutches to the red eagle clutches, compaired to the stock clutches? These facts will tell you how much pressure it took to clamp the clutches. This is a must know when you test clutches. Call Cris horbach at Raybestos and ask him if I'm correct.

x2 mike well said :thumb:

Cool. so Raybestos is aware of this i assume? did they say "oops, our mistake" or did they not care?

they didnt know!! the only way to know is to test them! David just likes to leave out small details such as that tho. When pete sends mike and i the revised clutches will keep everyone posted, im getting ready to run there clutches soon, also clutch count and clearance per pack plays a huge role here, set up wrong and well..... The current carbon fiber clutches im running will go 26 passes in the c3 before they need replaced, thats the problem pack, were hoping to see 50 passes out of these new clutches. David.. daily driving and dynos are not what were looking for here, i have friends on 4 year old mike L trans builds as well as suncoast builds that have sled pulled with no problems still to date... Give us 50 passes out of a race truck you built backed up, now that would be some awsome news!!!
