yeah I have hopes for a new 2011 set up myself but fueling this addiction and paying Tim to keep my truck in one piece along with bills is getting hard. So i have no idea what 2011 may hold for my truck at this moment.

There's rumors going around about a clutch in front of an Allison 1000. It's kinda old though. Supposedly Dale carpenter (have to think bac a few years to dhra workstock) is in process of building a bigger truck with a clutch in front of the Allison.

I can prolly get you in touch with a guy that can do the machining stuff but I'm curious what the electronics would do?!?!

I've always heard wakeman starts in 1st. That's amazing if it's true!

I have seen far more break in first than in 2nd or 3rd. Might be coincidence but I also broke several on the orange truck in first but none in second.

FYI, the Danco was legal at Scheid because it was the Scheid built Ford.

As for Wakeman, that's news to me if he starts in 1st. Sounds like 3rd to me and one shift.

x2, the torque multiplication is higher in 1st and if its a tight track you have that sudden "snap" unloading and loading of the weight (tires act as a slingshot) and it'll snap the shafts. the way i see it, 2nd or 3rd allows the chassis/tires to load slower and not break things as easily

Yes, We leave in 1st and for the most part always have, due to the fact that we could never get a converter to hold up, and the stahl speed is so low in the ones that have held up....Would like to leave in 3rd. but also need a converter to live....

We used to pull the tranny out every week for almost a year until we got a converter that would hold.... This tranny and conv. have been in for a couple years now and have only been taken apart for inspection no problems so far...
but it would be nice to rev. it and leave in 3rd. to spool the big chargers...

I used to leave in low, went to 2nd late in 09 and 3rd all year this year. With my 2 year old converter I was having a hard time getting 2600 before it ride me through the breaks even with the ebrake set. In the vid Tim took of me in Kirksville MO with a different converter I left at 3600 with out the ebrake. One week later in WI the data log was 4118 before I hit 100% throttle as I lifted from the brake. I have MUCH less issue with CV's and such. I had even twisted an inner shaft in the front diff before leaving in low gear.

I completely understand.

We had a hell of a time with the converter coming up high enough to spool that charger this last weekend. Trying 3rd and pulling it into 1st seemed to work the best so far.

I would have never guessed that the way the truck sounds. Thanks for answering.

A divided housing might help out a bit. I had an undevided housing on my old turbonetics turbo. It was real lazy to spool. Usually took 75 to 100 ft to light but hold on once it was lit. If you can get that monster to spool that's gonna be one nasty combo :thumb:

Divided is not an option. A standard T4 will not fit it. The other issues is flow. A divided T4 will not flow well enough to run this turbine.

This comp wheel can be put on a GT45. That would help spool up but you drive pressures will be a good bit higher.

I had this turbo built with a my truck in mind. Manual trans and a clutch.

John is right. The Gt45 that we were running would probably work great on most trucks but Rob's setup and tuning needed more air than the GTX45. We ran into drive pressure problems and possible overspeeding on the Garrett. The Precision of John's was wicked and once lit, we had traction problems...:thumb:

Needed more air than a GTX45?!?!?! Gracious day!!!!

A GTX4294 is suppose to flow similar to a GT4202R. No telling what a GTX4202 would flow, much less a freakin GTX45. Holy! Shit!!

I love it!! :cool2:
