He's a douch anyways. :thumb:

Thats exactly what I was trying to avoid ,myself ,your welcome to your opinion and you might be correct but I was giving him the benefit of doubt.

Now I'm not sure what to believe.

I thought perhaps he was given some second third hand information that perhaps the conversation in part had some info being added or taken away misinterpreted or completely false. How would i we know?

I figured he was a stand up-ish kind'a guy and one way or another would come here and clean it up but I guess I'm wrong.

But yet I will wait ,again, before I take the same stance as you have and call him a douche bag. :roflmao:

You do know what they say about a lier right? Now I aint saying he's a liar but he did make some statements here that seem at the moment to be false and we know what another word for false is ,that would be a lie. So someone who tells a lie is a lier. Right? :D

Ok gotcha

He hasn't posted since the 7th and I have no idea when he last visited so I don't know if he has seen this thread to update us although there was new post here on the 7th and he must have seen it.

Maybe he's busy installing the injectors? Dunno waiting

I can't let this fade away and be forgotten. I believe we need answers good or bad. Apparently he has a inside track or a friend in the bizz and since he brought it here he at least owes us a resolve.

Mac, let it go, just let it go.

Best thing to do for an LB7 is make sure to buy injectors from a trusted source, not "Joe Blow's Injector Rebuilders". Also, I recommend to start to slowly acquire parts to convert to LLY, because IMO there will never be a true "fix" for the LB7 injector design. They cant do anything about the voltage to fire the injectors or the heat dissipation problem under the valve covers. ;)

I've said the same thing Tom...the only fix for our trucks is to convert to external injectors.

I also agree that the LLY is the best design when all is considered.

This story never added up from the beginning...hence my first response.

FE9 LLY. My current and favorite of all the Dmax engines ;)

the california and federal emissions LLY's are exactly the same.......

slightly different DTC reporting settings for EGR....but its not like the LB7's where the federal/cali emissions engines were actually physically different.

I also doubt that this is really a legit fix but out of fairness I was giving the OP the benefit of doubt. I also feel his credibility is at stake! So if he does not respond he'll be considered a looser in my eyes as he should to others . What was his intent to even start this thread? Like I'm saying I WAS giving him the benefit of setting this straight!

i think it was odd_planes that had the new injectors back when they did the improved injectors(current replacements) once he started writing about it, gm, isuzu and bosch pulled parts out of his truck. if bosch can't get engine/industrial parts thru customs, then we have bigger problems.

arent the heads on cali lb7s different? if i wasnt mistaken the ports in a cali lb7 head are smaller then a federal emmision lb7..i could be wrong

I wondered what happened with that. He fell off the face of the earth with no info, no nothing.

IIRC, you are correct.

correct.

LB7 cali/federal heads are physically different.

Starting with the LLY, all heads were made the same (cali vs fed)

You know I wonder if the difference in the heads for California emissions trucks is part of the culprit. Not sure but I just replaced 2 injectors...which I think were the new style but I installed them in 2008..could be some were some not. I really had just one bad one and 6 perfect ones and one so so..after 70k. The so so was in cylinder 4 the bad in 2 so what the hell, replaced both.

The cylinder 2 one was fine for the longest time and then all of sudden +8 BR. I believe heat is the culprit on these things.

The second culprit could be the heads. My truck was born within weeks of Mike L's LB7.

He had a casting defect in the head, where the cup seals(was consuming coolant), which was replaced by Gm under warranty. Now He told me what happened, and when I did my own in 2008 I looked but did not see anything.

Well guess what I found in Cylinder 4...a casting defect in the taper portion of the head(luckily is was up further and has taper area to seal). So far she is holding(and was not consuming prior to this) but you gotta wonder if there was something about the california heads that could be adding to this.
