i just had a wild idea after reading on this forum.
what if you had a display in a gauge style, like the one pictured a few posts back, that would display the tune you are on. but the switching was done by the switches that are available on the overhead gauge mounts from ppe.
so you could have it all up over head with displays and switches.
just a thought.
i would want something like that.

Far from dead, guys. Its alive and it works perfectly on the truck. :)

Im just waiting for the gauge pod housings to be shipped to me, and I need to finalize the gauge face design. Would you guys like the background on the gauge face to be black? Aluminum? Clear (see the inner circuit boards and chips/wiring, I dunno)??

Ive integrated a bunch more features/add-ons as well. Im not going to say much about all of the additional features/capabilities of the DSP-5 switch, but this unit will be much more than just a simple "tune-up/tune-down" switch.

bear with me guys, I know its taking much longer than expected.

i think a lot of people are gonna want different backgrounds to match their other gauges. Glad to see this is still happening, I really need to fill the third spot in my pod and i can't think of anything cooler to put there. Will this hook up the same as a DSP5 switch or is there more to it. I know i'm not the only one in my crew chomping at the bit to get one of these bad boys, but take your time, I'm sure it's way more complicated than anything i've ever tried to make. haha...

Wires right into your existing DSP-5 control wire. So if you already have a DSP-5 switch, all you have to do is remove your existing DSP-5 switch and re-attach the wire to my gauge pod DSP-5 module.

I personally wouldnt want it to be a gauge pod style but that's just me

the only problem is where else to mount it...its difficult to make a panel that can hold the number display and up/down buttons properly, while still mounting conveniently and cleanly.

Really the only other realistic location is the cubby to the right of the HVAC controls. And on extended cab/regular cab/plow-prep trucks thats occupied by the airbag switch and/or the roof light switch...so thats not really feasible either.

Initially it will be offered as the gauge pod mount, but I would be happy to explore other mounting options in the future if anyone has any ideas of alternative styles/mounting locations.

an overhead mount might be cool like the edge mounts or something like that. with a nice little display and some lights or something. I don't know it's just an idea.

I just purchased a 2WD and a cool place to put it for those would be where the 4WD selector is?

On the 4WD, how about where the PTO switch mounts under the center AC vent?

teaser video of an early prototype switch module. Obviously the production versions wont look hack like this. The gauge bezels will be available in chrome or black. There will be several different options for the gauge face too. The prototype shown here is the black bezel/black face/red display.

The buttons and display will be available in blue, red, and green.

sorry I sound like a moron, im not good at filming, narrating, and using my DSP-5 switch all at the same time.

But you get the idea. :)

looks pretty sweet. may have to get a triple gauge pod for this. if you could find a way to keep memory when the key gets shut off it would be killer. I'd pay extra for that.
