I'm doing a 10" Sundown Audio SA10. I wanted to do a 12 but I won't have enough air space. Box is going to be a little over 1.5 cubes after sub and port displacement. Port is 4"x4" ID and is 33 1/2 inches long.

Nice! Glad you like it. I never got to drive it around as a long bed besides into the shop where I fixed it but I love it as a short bed.

Nice work! :thumb: u may could've fit a larger Kenwood square sub. idk much about air space requirements . hows the wire frame staying attached to the center console? a few screws then fiber glassed?

I really like my SA 12 that is in my Crew cab. So that's why I went that direction.

I attached the wire frame to the plastic with 2 part epoxy. On the MDF side I just used a little bit of hot glue.

Some of the high spots knocked down. It lifted on the top in the middle so I'm just going to cut that out and redo it.

I did it this way so I can add 7-8 layers of glass to the inside then I will connect the back portion to the mdf through the speaker hole so I can pull the box out of the console if I need to.

That took a bit of thinking to figure out how to make that work like that. Nice job, Cornell. :thumb:

if you mind sharing, how much are you into this project? if you dont feel like sharing the financials of the whole thing, how much did just the frame shortening cost? is it strong enough to tow?

I'm into it about 22 with the 22" wheels and 33s but they were 3. The frame was supposed to be 700 bucks but I ended up needing a whole new frame, then shorten it and 2 new engine mounts. So that ended up being 2500 total. The frame was cut the same way Lennart did his and then I had it gusseted on the inside rail top and bottom.. It should be stronger than factory.

Also my sub box had a little setback. A tube of activator I got from Lowes was bad so the resin wasn't curing. I saved what I could and started over.

New: I made it about and inch and a half shorter so that it is level after the console lid.

To be honest I thought at first you would be in it a lot more than that, but then I realize how much of your own time you've got in it. Either way, I think you could get way more than 22 out of it if you ever did decide to part with it. Although I'm sure that's the last thing you want to do now. You improved on perfection.

Thanks! I got the truck for 8 but I overpaid... especially with it needing a new frame. The place I bought it from said it needed a new frame horn. They didn't mention the passenger side was pushed up 4 inches and back about 6

I had a few people interested in it but I don't want to sell it and wouldn't want to till I was done with everything anyways.

4 layers of glass on the outside and inside joints. Should be good to go. Now I just need to figure out the beauty panel in the back.
