Started on my ipad dash today. Just waiting on the panel bond epoxy to cure enough so I can start sanding

:confused:Why would you do that?

Why the ipad? I don't really listen to the radio. Mostly my music and podcasts. Plus the head unit I'm using has an app that let's you control the hu with the ipad. This way I keep my steering controls as well. And it's kinda cool and cleaner looking than a double din.

An ipad with data makes a hell of a headunit. The last thing is you can connect it via blutooth and the passenger can watch a movie or look through music on their lap.

I shaved the indent around the console.

Going to do the pocket too. Maybe mount my dsp5 switch there light bar switches and a manual switch if I ever add a backup camera

Went to hook my radio up and started running wires for my amps and speakers. Radio won't turn on and now my shifter light indicator isn't illuminated. Frickin goofy considering all I ran was ground power and ACC wires to the radio and somewhere along there something happened. Checked all my fuses and nothing was missing. Checked to see if I fried the internal ground on my ecm too and that's fine.

Check to be sure all your connectors are tight. I had one of the ones that you plug together then tighten with the bolt that caused me problems, I put it together and forgot to tighten it down.

Looking awesome, that's a great idea for the iPad. Especially if it's data connected.

I think it has something to do with the spring that is for the shift lever. I pulled it out in 3 pieces. It was all broken up.

I sent you little dash pad piece out the other day finally. It was buried under a heap of shit on my toolbox

I checked all my connections, I checked to see if the internal ground on the TCM got fried somehow and that was fine. The parking/e-brake light, airbag light and ABS light are on in the dash.... and no shift range light at all.

Could it be a bad ignition switch? I can put the truck into drive with the key in run without having to press the brake pedal.

Running out of ideas. The interior I put in the truck had a remote starter but I cut it out and taped it up the best I could. Wonder if that has anythign to do with it and just bad timing with me putting the radio in.

Nah, if I go somewhere sketchy I'll put in in the console. But its hard to see in the truck with it tinted.

What kind of truck did the interior come out of? Was it optioned the same? I'm not overly familiar with how the 03+ communications work, but I did swap the original dash and wiring from my 99 5.3/4L60E/4wd into an 02 8.1/Allison/2wd. The trucks were optioned differently, so I had to run an extra class 2 data wire to the TCM (there wasn't one on the 5.3 truck) and an one to the air bag module as well. If your interior came out of a gasser truck, it may not have the wiring that connects to the TCM since I don't think the gas trucks run a separate TCM like the Allison trucks do.

It came out of an 04 suburban z71. I've been driving around with the new interior for more than 3 weeks now. Just since I tried to put that radio in it did this.

Oh gotcha, I didn't realize it was already running fine before.

It's weird, I can see the trans indicator and ABS/brake light being related...the speed sensor in the transfer case can cause the light to go on, and since it's part of the trans harness that would make sense. But I don't understand the airbag light, that shouldn't be part of the same harness. Do you have any codes stored?

Speakers came today.

SA 10 next to an SA 12 and two PPI flat piston 10's.

Sundown components as well.

Had to drive the CC today since the RC is out of commission.
